GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Production Operator starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely.
There are three Production Operator levels (I, II, & III).
The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime.
The Production Operator will operate production equipment, including industrial blenders, in accordance with the established production schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s).
Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications.
Perform routine inspections per quality standards.
Understand production instructions.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify problems or defects prior to production to ensure a clean, clear and safe work environment.
Reads and follows work orders and formulas to meet production specifications and schedules.
Examines materials, ingredients, or product per quality standards.
Weighs or measures materials, ingredients, and products per requirements.
Adds and mixes raw materials according to specifications.
Transfers materials, supplies, and products between work areas.
Discharges blenders of powder when necessary.
Ensures quality and conformity of blended products to meet standards.
Ensures equipment is set-up, cleaned, sanitized, and operating properly before, after and between runs.
Completes cleaning logs and notifies quality control for hygiene testing.
Records operational and production data on specified forms/production documents.
Reports malfunctions to a supervisor and confirms proactive and routine maintenance.
Conducts on-going assessment of quality control and operational procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: No formal education required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: No prior experience or training.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Essential Functions:
Works with CSR / AR Manager and Warehouse technician to ensure proper handling of in bound and out bound freight.
Manages storage of raw materials and finished goods, along with container counts.
Primary responsibility as CDL Driver to help meet the equipment needs of customers and plant operations by delivering and picking up materials and equipment in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
Permitted to operate heavy equipment such as semi-trucks and trailers,
Must be certified forklift operator and follow all regulations and company policies in order to safely load and unload materials to/from trailers and tankers so they may be transported safely and comply with all regulations.
Maintaining hazardous waste storage area and hazardous waste inventory in a manner consistent with all federal, state, local and company regulations and policies.
Have DOT certification.
Responsible for ensuring all trucks, trailers, and drivers have the proper licenses and certifications to haul any and all materials they deliver or pick up from Arnette Polymers, including hazardous waste.
Ensure all containers are clean, labeled properly, and stored in appropriate containers, as to maintain compliance with all regulations and policies.
Provides on-call and overtime support as needed in the evenings and other required times as designated by management.
Compliance and follow through from training courses regarding RCRA, EPA, OSHA, and other company guidelines and trainings for assigned job duties.
Acts in a stewardship capacity for the Company, works as a functional member of the team, has the ability to self-direct and self-regulate workday.
Participates in all environmental and safety training as required by Federal, State, County, and Local regulations as well as company policies.
Suggests improvements for safety and compliance.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education and practical work experience: high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years' experience in the field or in a related area, or a suitable combination of education and relevant experience.
Specialized technical/aptitude experience: Ability to listen and interpret logistic needs.
Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Must hold a valid Missouri Commercial Class - A Driver's License with HazMat Endorsement and maintain a driving record in Good Standing.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and execute job related tasks and project responsibilities independently, exercising judgment in the areas of storage of materials, incoming raw materials and outbound freight.

This position primarily handles all salt transactions from the cage to the make-up tanks and keeps all salt areas and equipment clean and stocked.

Fill salt make-up tanks with bags from caged areas, record transactions, and pump over to cure tanks.

Pack finished goods into appropriate containers and operate secondary equipment.
Perform off-line production operations as needed.
Hand feed raw material at the extrusion line.
Perform daily assembly of packaging components as needed.
Perform daily housekeeping duties of assigned areas: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas.
Assist Safety Coordinator with compliance tasks as needed.
Cover breaks and lunches for operators as needed.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs

Empty obsolete finish goods into appropriate collection containers for proper disposal. Empty collected drums of waste into Kiln Direct box. Must keep accurate logs. Empties, organizes, and keeps clean containers according to applicable regulations. Ensures waste compliance under supervision. Monitors waste collection and capacity; alerts manager to ensure that units are emptied before reaching full capacity. Operates and monitors the distillation units. Inspects and accurately inventories waste staging areas. Must maintain a valid forklift operator's certification. Assist in the on-site transfer of waste to staging areas as necessary. Assists vendors and transporters with waste collection and provides manifests. Maintains waste area in a clean and orderly condition. Always ensures safe working conditions; utilizes safety equipment and/or protective equipment as directed (i.e.
safety gloves and eye protection) and follows defined safety procedures. Maintain Spill Kit and absorbent pad inventories; notifies manager for deficiencies.
