Quality Engineer - Medical Devices
Newton Colmore is working with a medical devices company in the West Midlands, and we are assisting them with their search for a key Quality Engineer hire.
The role as Quality Engineer will give you the opportunity to work on market leading medical devices whilst working closely with the production team to ensure that the parts delivered from the company's suppliers meet the design specifications and quality requirements The quality engineer will help the production team in supplier quality assessments including creating and following up on SCARs and will also ensure that the Device History Record (DHR) is up to date for products manufactured.
This is a key new role within the team, and you will be reporting directly to the head of the team, and collaborating with the five members of the production team.
This role will also cover key responsibilities such as incoming inspection of parts, customer returns, and ensuring that document control, CAPA, and the complaints process is followed effectively.
To be considered for the Quality Engineer role you will need to have prior medical devices experience, ideally to both 13485 and 14971 ISO standards.
This will be paired with quality control and production knowledge within a manufacturing environment.

IT Field Engineer required by a high calibre IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), based in London.

As the company continues to grow and evolve, they are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and testing methods to guarantee the highest standards of quality.
- Conduct inspections and audits to monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and design teams to resolve quality issues and ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components meets required standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality methodologies to reduce defects and enhance efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams on quality assurance practices and maintain a high level of awareness across the company.
Key Experience & Qualifications of the Quality Engineer:
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of implementing and maintaining quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience with quality inspection, testing methods, and data analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements within the engineering or manufacturing fields.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data and root causes of quality issues.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- A degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred.
