£30,000 - £34,000 Pro Rata + Bonus 3, 4 or 5 Days per Week | Alternate Saturdays | No Sundays or Bank Holidays
Zest Optical are working alongside a well-established independent Opticians in Kidderminster to recruit a GOC registered Dispensing Optician.
This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of a long-serving Dispensing Optician, giving you the chance to inherit an established patient base while joining a successful independent practice with an excellent reputation.
It's also an exciting time to join, with a full refurbishment planned in the coming months.
The practice would ideally like to recruit someone on a part-time basis, although applications are welcomed from Dispensing Opticians looking for 3, 4 or 5 days per week.
The Opportunity
, Join a respected independent practice with a loyal patient base , Work alongside experienced Optometrists, Optical Assistants, an on-site laboratory and Audiologist , Dispense a carefully selected range of premium eyewear including LINDBERG, Face à Face, Silhouette, Ray-Ban, Oakley and more , Use Digital Mirror dispensing technology and Optix practice management software , Be involved in all aspects of dispensing and patient care within a busy six-day practice , Opportunity to support neighbouring practices on occasion
Role Details
, 3, 4 or 5 days per week with set working days , Alternate Saturdays only , Generally 9:00am to 5:30pm with some earlier shifts being introduced , £30,000 - £34,000 pro rata plus bonus , 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (pro rata), plus your birthday off , Ongoing training including OCT, dry eye clinics and Valeda AMD treatments , Genuine long-term career progression , Planned November start to allow a full handover

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Process Engineer (Jr) provides engineering support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure the product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow.
Charged with developing and maintaining systems to assure that all products manufactured by the plant meet customer specifications and achieve superior reliability levels.
Responsible for investigating and implementing new process technology at the plant.
The Process Engineer (Jr) is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the plant.
This position will oversee the QC Lab area and all QC activities.
This position is responsible for influencing the development of preventative maintenance programs at the facility and will have a significant role in capital improvement plans while assisting in work area design, plant layout, visual control and metric implementation, material flow, process tracking, and communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of the finished product
Participate in plant metric reporting
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities as detailed in the facility site plan to resolve any production problems that may occur, maximize product consistency, and minimize cost
Prepare estimates of production costs and production progress reports for management
Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations
Use SAP to monitor production/business functions
Recommend modifications to current processes and equipment; document and follow up with process engineers responsible for the modifications
Work with the plant engineers and maintenance to influence the direction of preventative maintenance best practices
Support a high-performance results-oriented culture and maintain high standards of safety and compliance
Provide technical and operational leadership for equipment and facility maintenance and improvements
Deliver disciplined project management and product development assistance
Regular review of batch first pass yield, felt production quality, distressed, obsolete, scrap, and returned material
Troubleshoot batch and raw material issues
Assist in the identification of capital requirements for the facilities' annual capital plans and budgets
Help investigate equipment failures, difficulties, and deficiencies
Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to ensure continuous improvement and continuous production
Develop and streamline their critical metrics and assist when necessary
Assist in the development of site metrics and KPI's
Perform a job in accordance with all Tremco safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.
S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical engineering, but Chemical is preferred
1+ years of engineering experience, including experience with manufacturing operations.
Relevant internships qualify
Continuous web process and batch process equipment experience
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with all levels of the plant
Create standard work instructions/SOP's
Exemplify team leadership skills
Demonstrate knowledge of arithmetic, statistics, continuous improvement concepts, ISO procedures, and their applications
Apply Excel, Word, and SAP applications to daily job responsibilities.
Learn and apply safety, environmental, SOX, ISO, and workplace regulations in the plant
Manage multiple priorities and make decisions on the most critical to keep the project moving forward
Self-motivated team player
Communicate technical concepts proficiently both verbally and in written form related to product usage, competitive product analysis, product specifications, product repairs, and problems, etc.
Possess strong problem-solving skills and employ a solutions-oriented approach
