JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Design Engineer assesses project requirements, gathers technical field data, determines design requirements, selects appropriate equipment, and provides drafting of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects.
This role combines engineering expertise with drafting skills to ensure that projects are planned and constructed effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand specific projects' scope and technical requirements.
This includes evaluating existing HVAC systems, identifying issues or challenges, and testing equipment performance. Determines scope and designs solutions for HVAC restoration projects via site visits and coordination with owner/facility staff. Understands components and functions of existing mechanical systems being altered or renovated. Exercises control over design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects. Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects. Utilizes in-house estimating tools to create project budgets. Assists sales team with scope reviews and support as needed. Creates, maintains, and improves drafting tools and templates. Determines the estimated cost of HVAC projects.
This includes calculating costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and any other expenses associated with the project.
Ensures a smooth transition from design to project execution, providing technical guidance and insights during and after construction. Other duties as assigned by the manager.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Engineer Intern (EI) Certification Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of industry-specific experience. Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD. EI certification with the ability to obtain a PE license preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred. Experience with a programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred. Experience with cloud-based platforms (Pro-Core, E-Builder, iAuditor, etc.) preferred. Ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $112,000 and $140,000.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Building Sciences team will participate in different projects with various scopes of work.
The Field Engineer is responsible for the organization, research, and documentation of cross-departmental assignments supporting the continued growth and operations of Pure Air Control Services, a Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the Building Sciences Project Manager with test and balance research, consultation, operations policy generation, and quality issues.
Adjust systems controls to settings recommended by the vendor, conduct measurement tests, and discuss system malfunctions with system users to isolate the problems.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, including sales personnel and field team, to develop a scope of work and estimate the cost of a project.
Organize material and complete reports according to pre-defined standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Evaluate current processes and develop innovative approaches for improvement. Write and develop in-house training materials supporting the staff and franchise partners.
Contacts and communicates directly with all levels of company management, staff members, and clients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Industry certificates are preferred but not required. Ability to obtain Engineer Intern certification preferred but not required. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, including Test and Balance or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems. Familiarity with current building, energy, and mechanical codes and standards.
Understanding of Indoor Air Quality and how it affects the building occupants.
Understanding of HVAC design principles, including heating load, air change, and ventilation requirements, and applying different HVAC systems (Constant volume, VAV, 100% OA, ERV units, etc.). Understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals, including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, equipment design and layout, and duct and pipe sizing.
Customer service oriented. Proficient computer skills and strong technical writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Well organized and possess superior time management abilities to support several projects simultaneously. Self-motivated and self-directed while remaining a team player.
Ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.

My well-established client in the healthcare sector is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
As the facilities maintenance engineer, your role will be to maintain the building services, building fabric and all equipment in a cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with all current national legislation.
You will undertake testing of plant/equipment, ensuring compliance and maintaining a safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors.
This role is commutable from Birmingham South, Coventry, Solihull and surrounding areas.
Other job titles might include: Facilities Engineer, Site Plumber, Pipe-fitter, Maintenance Technician, Facilities Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance Assistant, Site Engineer or similar.
The Role of Facilities Maintenance Engineer:
- Working as part of the Engineering team you will be responsible for providing planned and preventative maintenance, as well as reactive for all equipment, grounds and fabric within the hospital.
- You will analyse faulty equipment through to onsite repairs and liaise closely with specialist contractors.
- You will be responsible for identifying and initiating action, either directly or via contractors, on all repairs required, in the event of a breakdown or defect.
- Carrying out general plumbing and pipe-fitting duties.
- Change of air-conditioning filters and belts and cleaning of grease filters.
- Service of ballcocks, tap washers and shower mixers.
- Carry out repairs to building fabrics including some decorating and carpentry.
- You will input relevant data following PPM actions into the planning record system to ensure accurate records are maintained.
- To carry out or coordinate any minor alterations (e.g.
refurbishment, redecoration) to the building as and when required.
- Ensure stock levels of engineering items and consumables are kept at a satisfactory level.
Key Requirements - Facilities Maintenance Engineer:
- Must hold an apprenticeship or qualification in Building Services such as Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC or similar
- Must have a minimum of 1 years of experience within a Building Services or facilities maintenance position within a healthcare environment
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle is essential
- Be a great communicator with a strong work ethic.
- Able to work as part of a team and also independently to ensure tasks are completed.
- Flexibility to work our rota and fulfil the on call requirements
