Consultant Anaesthetist - Walsall NHS
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join the Anaesthetic team at Walsall NHS on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the General Anaesthetic team to deliver a high-quality, progressive, and professional anaesthetic service across a broad range of specialties, including obstetrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide anaesthetic services to a wide range of specialties, with opportunities to develop special interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Bariatrics, Colorectal Anaesthesia, Preassessment, Simulation, or Education.
Ensure the safe and effective delivery of anaesthesia to patients across the hospital, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Participate in service development initiatives to improve patient care and safety.
Maintain high professional standards and contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior staff.
Role Details:
The post is offered at 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, with an additional 2 PAs per week negotiable following a review.
Work in close collaboration with consultants and junior doctors to enhance anaesthetic care delivery across various departments.
Requirements:
Medical Degree from a recognized university.
A minimum of 2 years of full-time postgraduate training or equivalent part-time experience and competencies.
2 years' experience post-training in anaesthesia.
ALS certification (Advanced Life Support) required before starting.
Experience in obstetric anaesthesia and interest in developing other specialty areas is advantageous.
