Based from the company's Milan office on a hybrid basis, this is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer, Applications Engineer, Field Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar technical professional who is looking to take the next step into technical sales and business development.
You will be joining a highly collaborative, international sales environment, working with customers across Italy and gaining exposure to leading Test & Measurement technologies and solutions.
As a Technical Sales Representative, you will use your existing technical understanding of electronics, software and instrumentation to identify customer requirements, develop new relationships and uncover commercial opportunities.
You will work closely with internal sales and technical teams, building your commercial skillset while continuing to leverage your technical expertise.
This role would particularly suit someone who has a strong technical background, but is now looking to move away from a purely technical position and build a long-term career in technical sales, business development and account management.
Key Responsibilities for Technical Sales Representative - Test & Measurement:
Develop new business and increase market share across Italy
Identify and qualify new customer and commercial opportunities
Use your technical understanding to understand customer requirements and identify appropriate solutions
Build and develop relationships with engineers, technical stakeholders and commercial decision-makers
Manage and grow an active, unassigned customer base
Work closely with internal sales, applications and technical teams to maximise opportunities
Support key accounts and larger commercial opportunities
Develop a strong understanding of Test & Measurement products and their applications
Progress opportunities through the sales process from initial engagement through to conversion
Maintain accurate pipeline information and provide regular reporting
Key experience / skills for Technical Sales Representative - Test & Measurement:
Technical education or experience within Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Test & Measurement, Instrumentation or a similar discipline
Experience in a technical environment such as Electronics Engineering, Field Engineering, Technical Support, Engineering or similar
Some exposure to customers, sales, business development or commercially focused activities would be advantageous
A genuine interest in moving into a technical/commercial role
Strong understanding of electronics, instrumentation or Test & Measurement
Fluent Italian and English communication skills
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders
Commercially curious, proactive and motivated to develop a career in sales

Are you an Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer or EC&I Engineer with strong PLC and industrial control systems experience?
We're recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join a large-scale heavy process manufacturing site near Macclesfield.
This is a hands-on technical role responsible for the reliability, integrity and continuous improvement of plant automation and control systems.
You'll work closely with electrical, maintenance, production and control-room teams to reduce downtime, resolve control-system issues and deliver automation improvements across the site.
You'll also play a key role in plant upgrades and CAPEX projects, supporting everything from specification and programming through to testing, integration and commissioning.
The Role
Maintain and improve plant automation and control systems
Diagnose PLC, software and control-system faults
Prevent production downtime caused by automation issues
Modify and develop control-system programming
Support operators with plant control and system issues
Integrate new equipment into existing control systems
Support automation upgrades and plant improvement projects
Assist with specification, programming, testing and commissioning
Support CAPEX projects from development through to commissioning
Ensure modifications are properly tested before implementation
Develop robust control-system procedures and documentation
Support server virtualisation and testing of program modifications
Work closely with electrical, maintenance and production teams
Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability and performance
Ensure automation work is completed safely and appropriately risk assessed
What We're Looking For
Experience with industrial automation or control systems
Strong PLC fault-finding and programming capability
Experience with HMI, SCADA or process-control systems
Electrical, Controls, Automation, EC&I or similar engineering background
Experience within manufacturing, process or heavy industrial environments
Comfortable diagnosing complex control-system faults
Experience modifying and commissioning automated plant or machinery
Understanding of industrial communications and control architecture
Strong approach to plant reliability and continuous improvement
Able to work effectively with operators and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience within cement, aggregates, quarrying, minerals, steel, chemical, food, glass, brick, ceramics or another continuous-process/heavy manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant.
