Responsibilities:
Work independently to initiate innovative and functional product designs and manage the design projects related to new product development across all Rust-Oleum product categories. Participate in research of internal and external voice of customer meetings, analyze customer needs and insights, and translate them into value-added design solutions. Design, prototype, and test product design to ensure quality, functionality, durability, manufacturability and correlate chemical and physical material to consumer application and use, cost, safety and environmental impact. Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline. 5 or more years of hands-on experience in new product development and tooling design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems with proven track record of successful new product design and development, preferably in durable consumer markets. Experienced in plastic injection molding and plastic parts design. Proven leadership in managing new product development, start to finish. Extensive knowledge of product design, materials selection and manufacturing processes and direct experience working with a broad array of materials, preferably for consumer goods products. Excellent working knowledge of Computer Aided Design modelling concepts and software proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D part modeling, drawing, and assembly creation of the mechanical components. A passion for design, engineering, problem solving, with critical thinking and creativity. Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team from project concept through commercialization. Advanced knowledge and understanding of cement manufacturing, cement chemistry, and raw and finish mill circuit operation. Basic understanding of cement additives chemistries. Ability to interpret lab outputs (e.g., XRD, clinker microscopy, isothermal calorimetry, and physical test results) to develop customer-specific strategies and product recommendations. The Process Engineer will manage and commercialize new processes developed by the Research and Development department into full scale production within the Tremco Corsicana plant.
The Process Engineer will determine which equipment in the plant is most suited to make new products and what modifications may be necessary for such production to successfully occur. Over the next two years, the Tremco Corsicana facility will design, construct, and commission a new reactor.
This new major plant expansion will introduce new production capabilities to the Corsicana facility and is expected to serve as a model project for further plant modernization efforts.
The employee filling this role will lead this expansion project all the way through the commissioning and scaleup phases. In addition to supporting new products and plant expansions, this individual will also manage and optimize existing processes throughout the plant with the goals of maximizing yield and minimizing batch cycle times. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Safety The Process Engineer will actively participate in process safety reviews, and process hazards analysis as the technical representative. Must understand the hazards of the raw materials, processes, and products in order to develop a safe manufacturing process. Subject matter expert in wide range of chemical plant processes and systems.
Perform safety vent calculations for process upset conditions. Determine the correct control systems and interlocks to safely operate the process. Participate in plantwide process safety programs. LEAN Culture Use knowledge of existing processes to propose process modifications which will reduce waste. The Process Engineer, will be the technical consultant to the plant continuous improvement team. Understand the principle and philosophy behind the implementation of a LEAN culture. Product Quality Provide process knowledge to quality control department in order to troubleshoot quality issues. After developing a new process, coordinate the training of operators with a focus on quality critical product specifications, Standard Operating Procedures and process parameters. Productivity Use knowledge of the manufacturing process to improve productivity through elimination of non-value-added activities. Lead the effort to identify causes which result in productivity levels below the expected. Participate with maintenance in facility continuous improvement programs MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (special skills, knowledge, ability, education, etc.): Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Chemical Engineering.

- To build PCBs using SMT equipment
- Work from technical drawings
- Check work completed for compliance before passing to the next stage
- Ensure job history is accurately maintained/reported on all route cards the employee works on
- Proactively advise management of any issues that may affect delivery & or quality
- Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30-16:30 and Friday 7:30 to 12:30.
