JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Engineer provides process engineering support for raw materials, compounding, production and packaging functions to improve safety, quality, service and cost efficiencies in the operations area in the Pacific, MO manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities
Support daily production needs through process troubleshooting, experimentation and support for production requirements. Work with project managers on designing and installing PLC controls for capital projects. Work with Allen-Bradley PLC's to maintain and improve current operations. Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, increase material utilization, improve first time right, integrate new products/processes into production and reduce variation. Implement necessary changes and update all documentation (including drawings and SOP's) accordingly. Coordinates with plant engineer to oversee capital projects necessary for the continued improvement and modernization of the plant. Ensure completion of projects within budgets. Responsible for achieving and maintaining safety goals relative to the maintenance and engineering functions.
Responsible for safety devices, safe design, etc.

Create and maintain P&IDs for current and future processes. Troubleshooting machinery, including PLC coding adjustments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering. 0 to 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience.
Safety and ergonomic experience. Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process.
Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach Previous Capital Project experience Ability to read and interpret process drawings Strong interpersonal skills: good communication skills both written and verbal. Strong Analytical & Troubleshooting skills.
PC usage with MS Office Suite Strong AutoCAD skillset.
(3D design utilizing Inventor Professional or Solidworks is plus) Experience with PLC's, Allen Bradley is desired.

Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer
Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a part of Carboline Global Continuous Improvement Team supporting the development and execution of continuous improvement projects at the Green Bay manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions:

Collaborates with operations manager and/or plant engineering on modification of equipment and processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency and quality. Strong communicator with top-notch presentation skills who can develop and provide training to production personnel on matters concerning formulation, materials handling, processing, and quality procedures. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Leadership role in effort to recertify and reclaim Non-Conforming material.
Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Continuously challenging the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in our operating areas. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements Perform additional duties as assigned. Commitment to the Company's Safety and Quality programs.

The Quality Control Manager manages the Quality Process to ensure we are effectively meeting our key business metrics and satisfying all customer product requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all quality related functions in the plant.
Act as primary plant liaison with Customers dealing with their processing issues.
Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
Work directly with Corporate and local Purchasing on vendor quality or supply issues; assist with vendor selection and qualification.
Manage ISO Quality systems.
Lead the lean/six sigma initiatives in the plant.
Respond to and report on internal and external quality concerns - manage the root cause investigation, corrective action implementation and follow up, and the SAP quality process.
Interact professionally and timely both verbally and in writing with customers and sales force.
Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products.
Oversee all lab functions and personnel, assuring safety and integrity of those operations.
Test on raw materials and finished product as required.
Implement material cost saving plans where and when appropriate.
Participate in annual budget planning.
Assist in all compliance activities, especially Hazcom and maintaining SDS system.
Other projects/tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
2+ years' related experience.
Experience in Quality Programs (Lean, ISO, Six Sigma).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
ISO certification.
