Key Responsibilities:
Conduct property inspections and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments.
Advise tenants, landlords, and agencies on housing standards and legislative compliance.
Collaborate with the Housing Options team to support vulnerable clients and combat harassment and unlawful eviction.
Process grants and loans for housing improvements and adaptations.
Address long-term empty properties by engaging with owners and implementing enforcement actions.
Liaise with contractors, health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in housing or a related field (such as Environmental Health).
HHSRS competency certification or commitment to obtain it.
Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in customer service and negotiation.
Valid driving license and DBS check required.

A client within the public sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for a Housing Improvements Officer to join their team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to assess adaptation requirements in line with relevant legislation, undertake design work to address identified requirements efficiently and effectively and manage the delivery of the works to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
provide a service to clients who are enquiring about, have made an application for, or have received approval for, the various types of grant or loan assistance.
organise and oversee all technical aspects of the Housing grants / loans process from receipt of initial enquiry through to completion.
inspect properties with regard to the legislation and standards appertaining to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, the Decent Homes Standard, Disabled Facilities Grant and other relevant standards, as appropriate
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require to be qualified to at least HND/HNC level Building Construction and / or Surveying or equivalent.
It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:
experience in a residential building / surveying related discipline with knowledge of the building industry, surveying practices and techniques, adaptations and general domestic building maintenance / repair practices.
experience in producing detailed specifications, schedules of work and plans using CAD programmes.
ability to compile and maintain a schedule of rates, tender preparation and negotiation, contract administration, quality and cost control.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £21.46 p/h Umbrella Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
Debtors Ledger Management: Maintain and update an accurate computerised debtors ledger and ensure timely follow-up in line with Council policy and audit regulations.
Bank Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts, Council loans, and cash controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Debt Collection: Manage debt collection processes, including chasing overdue payments and reporting on collection activities.
Income Reconciliation and Invoice Management: Reconcile income for various accounts, including the General Registry Office, and prepare bank lodgements.
Cash Handling: Process cash intake, issue receipts, and prepare weekly bank lodgements.
Administrative Support: Handle general administrative duties, including managing calls, mail, and electronic filing systems.
Account Reviews: Review accounts for credit notes or refunds and liaise with customers to resolve payment issues.

Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to Council policies and audit regulations in all financial transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a financial or accounting role.
Strong knowledge of financial management, debt collection, and reconciliation processes.
Proficiency with financial software and management information systems (e.g., Sun, Vision, Konducta).
Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Desirable Qualifications:
A relevant financial qualification or working towards (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent).
