My client is an established firm in the engineering manufacturing sector, based in Leicester and commutable from Loughborough, Derby, Nottingham, Coventry and Northampton.
They are currently looking for a skilled CNC Miller to join their team as the main Toolroom Machinist.
The Role - Toolroom CNC Machinist:
- Using a variety of machines to produce tooling and one off precision parts
- Setting and Operating CNC Milling machines
- Working on XYZ and Fanuc-controlled machines
- CNC Programming on ProtoTRAK
- Working from drawings
- Quality checking parts using various hand tools
- Maintaining machinery, removing swarf and routine oiling/greasing etc
- Working independently
- Day Shifts
Minimum Skills / Experience Required - XYZ Machinist:
- Experience as a CNC Setter or CNC Programmer on XYZ Milling machines
- Skilled with XYZ machines
- Able to quality check own parts
- Motivated and excellent team player
- Able to commute to the LE8 area of Leicester
The Package - CNC Milling Setter:
- Starting pay rate up to £18.00 per hour
- Rate depending on skill and experience level
- Free onsite parking

They specialise in producing unique and bespoke metalwork subcontract services for Aerospace, Defence and Medical sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC machining processes and be proficient in setting and operating CNC milling machines.
CNC Miller Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating CNC milling machines with Mazak and Heidenhain controls.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Comfortable working with offsets and tooling changes.
- Ensuring high-quality production and adherence to tight tolerances.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machines.
- Working collaboratively with the team to meet production targets.
CNC Miller Essential Skills and Experience:

Setting and operating 3&4 axis CNC milling machinery in a fast-paced precision engineering environment.
The department runs at a fast rate producing small batches and one-off pieces to exacting tolerances.
Roles & Responsibilities· Set & Operate 3&4 axis CNC milling equipment.
Haas & Mori Seiki machines using Fanuc interface· Machining tool steels both hard and soft (up to 65Hrc)· Use of Renishaw spindle probes to set workshifts/datums· Read & interpret technical drawings.
Manufacture parts to tolerances of 0.001mm· Take precise in-process measurements using a range of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, plug gauges etc.)· Maintain a clean workstation & adhere to 5S standards· Ensure that all operations adhere to safety & quality protocols· Periodic tool changes during production in order to maintain quality
