An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a well-established dealership offering new and used cars, servicing, MOTs and finance options and known for its friendly, customer-focused service.
As a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic, you will perform servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting on both passenger and commercial vehicles within a fast-paced franchised dealership.
This role offers a salary range of £34,000 - £36,000 and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
* Conduct MOT testing in line with current regulations.
* Complete warranty repairs to the highest standards and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
* Collaborate with colleagues to assist in their work and ensure efficient teamwork.
* Carry out Vehicle Health Checks (VHC) and ensure all related paperwork is accurately completed.
* Consistently deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
What we are looking for
* Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Car Mechanic, Car Technician, MOT Tester, MOT technician, MOT mechanic or in a similar role
* At least 2 years of experience
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* MOT Tester licence/qualification (preferred)
* Valid UK driving licence
* Right to work in the UK
Shifts:
* Monday - Friday: 08:30am - 17:00pm
* Saturday mornings may be required on an rota basis

The role of Electrical Technician
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join the Maintenance team, responsible for delivering day-to-day electrical maintenance, inspection, testing and repairs across the pipeline system.
The role supports the safe and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure by responding to faults, resolving equipment issues and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Working closely with technical teams, site supervisors and operations, you will help ensure systems remain efficient, dependable and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Technician:
Carry out maintenance, overhaul, fault finding and repair of electrical equipment using OEM manuals, drawings and engineering documentation.
Respond to breakdowns, support diagnostics, and complete inspections in line with BS7671 and BS60079 standards.
Plan, coordinate and oversee contractor activities, including permits, handovers, and safe isolation procedures.
Maintain accurate records via CMMS, including work orders, parts used, remedial actions, and asset/PPM updates.
Support site operations through calibration of instruments, alarm testing, and maintenance of systems such as SCADA and tank gauging.
Manage stock, liaise with suppliers, and support continuous improvement through audits, training of junior staff, and development of procedures.
Essential Criteria for the Electrical Technician
Qualified Electrical Technician with a recognised time-served apprenticeship and certifications: 18th Edition / BS7671.
Proven experience in petrochemical, Oil and gas or process industry environments, with strong knowledge of permit systems, site safety rules, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
Effective communicator able to work collaboratively across teams while managing workload independently.
Proactive approach with strong ownership, high safety standards, and good IT skills; physically fit with a clean driving licence.

Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels.
Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures.
Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases.
Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy.
Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Cross-train on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
One-year certificate from college, technical school or manufacturing training program.
One additional year of experience plus high school diploma/GED in lieu of higher education is acceptable.
Two additional years of experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Maintenance Technician II: 1+ year of experience
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Capable of installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC; AC/DC drive motors preferred
Ability to troubleshoot electric, air systems, and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of lockout/tagout, arc flash requirements, confined space entry and hot work permit
Ability to work overtime as needed; ability to meet deadlines
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond urgently to down equipment
Effective team player, self-motivated, quick learner
Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.
