THE OPPORTUNITY:We're partnering with a growing SME business in London that's looking to recruit a Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function.This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager or experienced Management Accountant who is looking for a standalone role with full responsibility for the finance function.
Reporting directly to the Directors, you'll oversee everything from transactional finance through to Management Accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow, and statutory compliance.This an ideal opportunity for a Finance Manager or Management Accountant with previous SME experience who enjoys taking ownership and driving continuous improvement.THE FINANCE MANAGER ROLE:As the standalone Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end finance function, including:

Hands-on management of a high value, low volume, Sales Ledge & Purchase Ledger
Processing supplier payments, customer receipts, and bank reconciliations

Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
Managing Month-End and Year-End processes, including liaising with external accountants
Maintaining fixed asset and prepayment schedules
Producing management reports and financial analysis using Xero and Excel
Using Excel to prepare reports, forecasts, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial analysis
Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting, and finance processes
Acting as the business's standalone finance professional and trusted finance partner
THE PERSON:
Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Company Accountant, or Finance Controller with full finance responsibility, within an SME environment.
Experience producing Management Accounts within an SME environment
Qualified by Experience (QBE) or studying towards an accounting qualification
Strong knowledge of budgeting, cashflow forecasting, VAT Returns, Month-End, Year-End, and financial reporting
Previous experience using Xero is highly desirable
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial reporting
A proactive, hands-on individual who enjoys taking ownership and improving finance processes

Responsible for implementing, conducting, and maintaining OSHA required programs, training and recordkeeping of all Stonhard employees located in Maple Shade and Cherry Hill, NJ facilities.
Assist and work closely with the Corporate Manager- Environmental, Health and Safety with safety and environmental inspections, sustaining EH&S metrics, permitting and compliance.

Coordinate emergency response for hazardous material and hazardous waste incidents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume a leadership position at the facility in partnership with the shift supervisors.
Activities include resolution and communication regarding safety issues.
Execute scheduled PHA's and JSA's.
Proactively monitor areas and remediate potential safety issues.LEAN Culture
Develop and execute "standard work" activities.
Improve productivity through the elimination of non-value-added activities.
Apply Engineering principles and methodologies to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
Product Quality
Work to maximize equipment efficiency and quality for output.
Member of the facility QIC.
Ensure identification of root cause and subsequent prevention of future customer complaints.
Assist in the training of operators with a focus on quality-critical product specifications and process parameters.
Significant experience with equipment troubleshooting and process design.
Project Management
Must be capable of successfully managing major process equipment projects (>$750k) on time and on budget.
Managerial
Must be capable of leading and/or supervising others in their role or in the execution of completing a project.
Mentors less experienced engineers.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
B.S.
in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Controls, or similar Engineering Degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Two to four years of related experience and/or training.
Must have experience in both practical Process Engineering and Project Management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in workflow processes, value stream efficiency, and systems thinking.
Understanding process variance and the resultant effects on Quality.
Knowledge of applied statistics.
Ability to perform problem analysis utilizing problem-solving methodology.
Must be knowledgeable in the Project Management software being used.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.
