Our Manufacturing client is looking for SMT Machine Operator to join their fast-growing business to support within the pick and place department.
As an SMT Machine Operator you will: be assembling Printed Circuit Board using a variety of tools & equipment including screen printers, pick & place machines, and reflow ovens.
Key requirements to be a successful SMT Machine Operator:
- Good working knowledge of IPC-A-610 & IPC J-STD-001 preferred
- Awareness & understanding of ESD Controls
- Reading & understanding complex drawings and instructions
- Awareness & understanding of AS9100/ISO9001
- Sound knowledge of SMT assembly equipment & assembly processes
- PC/IT literate, using PCs and tablets as required
Duties for the successful SMT Machine Operator:
- To build PCBs using SMT equipment
- Work from technical drawings
- Check work completed for compliance before passing to the next stage
- Ensure job history is accurately maintained/reported on all route cards the employee works on
- Proactively advise management of any issues that may affect delivery & or quality
- Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to

Perform safety vent calculations for process upset conditions. Determine the correct control systems and interlocks to safely operate the process. Participate in plantwide process safety programs. LEAN Culture Use knowledge of existing processes to propose process modifications which will reduce waste. The Process Engineer, will be the technical consultant to the plant continuous improvement team. Understand the principle and philosophy behind the implementation of a LEAN culture. Product Quality Provide process knowledge to quality control department in order to troubleshoot quality issues. Tremco Construction Products Group brings together Tremco CPG Inc.'s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing and Roofing & Building Maintenance divisions; Tremco Barrier Solutions Inc.; Dryvit, Nudura and Willseal brands; Prebuck LLC; Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.; Weatherproofing Technologies Canada and PureAir Control Services, Inc.
Altogether, Tremco CPG companies operate 21 manufacturing facilities, 6 distribution sites, and 3 R&D/technology sites, and employ more than 2,700 people across North America.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Machine Operator (3rd Shift) starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely.
There are three Machine Operator levels (I, II, & III).
The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s).
Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications.
Perform routine inspections per quality standards.
Understand production instructions.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Package, label, and store products.
Cross-train on other production functions as business need dictates.
Clean and maintain assigned area to ensure proper functionality.
Report and assist with resolving safety, quality, and mechanical issues.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
If appropriate, set up and operate various off-line and secondary equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: No formal educational requirement.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior work experience or training required. Previous experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment requiring speed and dexterity is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift Licensecertified.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to function effectively in a team setting.
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, and dependability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.
