We are looking for a Fitter to join a growing business in the Wigan area.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a clean, modern workshop environment for a company that is excelling in its industry and has a strong order book for the upcoming year.
The Fitter role would be fully workshop-based Monday to Friday , in the Wigan area, the role is commutable from Warrington, Wigan, St Helens and other surrounding areas, in a perfect location just based off M6 motorway.
Duties of the Fitter role:
Carrying out a range of electrical and installation tasks as required - Crimping, soldering, terminating wires.
Assisting with the assembly and fitting of components and equipment.
Following technical drawings
Measuring and cutting materials accurately
Using a variety of tools and workshop equipment to perform day-to-day duties.
Checking completed work to ensure it meets expected quality standards.
Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues in a busy workshop.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proven background in mechanical or electrical assembly or have proven hands-on experience in a practical trade, such as window, door, or kitchen fitting, joinery, or similar installation-based work.
A strong understanding of working with tools, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality craftsmanship would be highly beneficial.

Competitive hourly rate - circa £13.50 an hour
Overtime opportunities paid at enhanced rates.

Dismantle end-of-life vehicles in a controlled and safe manner
Identify, remove, and record components suitable for reuse
Clean, assess, and refurbish assemblies such as 5th wheels, radiator packs, pipework, brackets, and hydraulic items
Accurately log dismantled components into the internal stock system
Support diagnosis of component condition and suitability for reuse
Use lifting gear, hand tools, and workshop equipment correctly and safely
