Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive
We are recruiting for a Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive on behalf of one of our clients who are a well-established law firm and provide services across a diverse range of law areas. With offices in Lancashire this role will be based in Preston and working closely with two senior members of the team.
This firm provide a dedicated individual service to all their clients and the successful Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive will possess at least 2 years PQE and handle a diverse and well-established case load consisting of Wills, Probate, Estate Planning & Court of Protection applications.
You will have a passionate and ambitious approach to your work and ideally you will be working towards or be prepared to study the STEP and SFE qualifications as this will be supported by the firm.
This role can be performed on a full-time basis however applications will be considered from candidates looking for flexibility around their working hours and hybrid working. - Processing online payments (Faster Payments, CHAPS, SWIFT) in line with approval procedures
- Managing transactions across numerous individual client bank accounts
- Liaising with banks to resolve payment issues
- Handling deposits and withdrawals from external deposit accounts
- Managing payroll, tax, pensions, and HMRC payments for client-employed staff
- Processing HMLR statements and applying the correct VAT
- Reconciling credit card, debit card, and cheque control accounts
- Banking cheques and reconciling against ledgers
- Reviewing property completion statements and client ledgers
- Checking and processing bills and expenses
- Monitoring residual balances and supplier payments
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years legal cashiering experience
- Numerate, accurate, and detail-oriented
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the leadership team
Manage diaries, organise meetings and travel, and conduct research
Prepare and edit reports for senior management
Maintain documentation for governance and assessments
Handle confidential documents securely and maintain office systems
Accurately take minutes at meetings
Manage facilities and lead key strategic projects for the MD
Take briefs, plan tasks with roadmaps to meet deadlines, and implement stakeholder engagement
Adapt to change, assess risks and opportunities while adhering to regulatory policies
Prepare and review tenders
Demonstrate working knowledge of quality assurance standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 27001)
Requirements
Demonstrable track record in an Office Management/PA/Secretarial role
Exceptional organisational, planning, and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse clients, including government departments
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Proficiency in MS Office
Ability to manage costs to budget
Non-smoker
Eligible to work full-time in the UK
Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm
