Position Summary:
Responsible for order cycle from placement of the order, coordination of manufacture, and shipment through billing.
Essential Functions:
Answer a high volume of phone calls. Input orders with the correct price, discounts, commission splits, rate special requirements, products, point of manufacture, sales division, project, market, routing, and freight terms. Coordinate the manufacturing point, scheduling, shipment, and delivery of the product.
Prioritize and negotiate product availability with the expeditor. Understand and follow policy guidelines relative to stock orders, no-charge orders, special charges, quality compliance, credit, freight recovery, commission levels and splits Follow up daily on order status and notify customers or sales reps of any changes.
Work with production management and expediting to meet customer requirements. Work closely with Regional Managers on pertinent regional service and support issues, account development, sales training, inventory availability, etc. Perform additional duties as assigned Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.
Requirements:
High School Degree or equivalent 2-year Business degree or minimum 1 year Customer Service experience.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.

Strong communicator with top-notch presentation skills who can develop and provide training to production personnel on matters concerning formulation, materials handling, processing, and quality procedures. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Leadership role in effort to recertify and reclaim Non-Conforming material.
Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Continuously challenging the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in our operating areas. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements Perform additional duties as assigned. Commitment to the Company's Safety and Quality programs.

Requirements:
4 years Chemistry, Engineering degree or equivalent experience, minimum 3 years' experience in a CI role. Formal training in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred Green Belt. Ability to use a computer for all company required processes, procedures, and trainings.

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the distribution center.
Duties include, but are not limited to, general clerical, receptionist and project based work.

Logistics Coordination
Schedule all outbound LTL pickups, inbound deliveries for the Fenton DC.

Maintain correspondence with truckload brokers for the best rates and dates for shipping high-volume orders and transfers. Communicate scheduled pickups with the management team to prepare loads for pickup.
Follow-up with key Accounts (Home Depot, Lowes) on missed pickups.
Utilize vendor transportation links to schedule pickups including Home Depot, Lowes, Grainger, Sears/Kmart, True Value, Tractor Supply etc.
Work with Export department to setup container pickups.
Distribution Center Administrative Support
Daily use of copy, fax/scanner, and printers.
Work proficiently within the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e.
Word, Excel and Outlook) and business software (SAP).
Maintain spreadsheets for tracking data in a variety of reports.
Process all inbound and outbound paperwork daily.
Communicating with Distribution Manager on operational problems.
Provide support for various projects and lean initiatives.
Track daily productivity numbers for all associates on the floor.
Handle all data entry for inbound and outbound shipments for the Fenton DC.
Inventory Management
Correspond with Pacific DC on daily inbound loads of inventory.
Complete all data entry for inbound loads from Pacific DC. Complete all data entry for inbound and outbound loads.
Correspond with the warehouse floor on any inventory errors/issues and perform data entry as needed.
Correspond with the Pacific DC and Pacific Production on inventory needed to complete orders, etc.
Customer Service
Communicating on a daily basis with Customer Service on various shipments that need to leave the Distribution Center.
Sending back orders for changes that need to be made.
Handle inbound calls on product availability, allocations on Hot orders and backorders for on time delivery.
Checking emails frequently for new situations with customers and deliveries to achieve timely solutions.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of experience in the relevant field. Work proficiently within the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel & Outlook) and business software (SAP). Previous experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting is preferred. Ability to calculate and solve basic math equations. Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization. Tend mixing or grinding equipment and maintain control over time, heat, mix speed, etc. Upon batch completion, take product sample to QC Lab for QC checks. Check production batches by comparison to standards Make adjustments to batch as necessary Recheck batch after adjustments are made until product is within standard product specifications Use proper analytical tools to compare product to standard specs and to wet and/or dry samples Record results of comparison and record onto batch card Consult with Main Lab chemist on products more than 10% out of product specifications Upon approval of product record data onto Quality Control car and enter information into computer data base Consult QC manual for specific requirements for product analysis of production batches and customers special requirements Calibrate QC equipment as required Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

Reasoning Ability
Determine correct batch making procedures as instructed in initial training and described on batch ticket.
Determine if raw materials are fit for use. Work without continuous supervision while completing assigned projects.

The work environment is representative of those an employee would encounter in a normal paint manufacturing facility while performing the job tasks listed in this job description.
The employee is exposed to solvent vapors at well below the OSHA permissible exposure limit and when required, adequate personal protection equipment is required.
