JOB DESCRIPTION
DAP is looking to hire R&D Intern for Summer 2026.
Responsibilities:
The summer intern would work under mentorship of a senior scientist to perform collaborative research. The research work would focus on understanding structure-property relationships of raw materials and formulated products through use of analytical testing capabilities such as thermal, rheological, mechanical, surface analysis, etc.
This work will also require test method development for correlation of material properties to real-world applications and performance attributes. Additionally, the summer research project(s) will also focus on developing general lab research skills and provide exposure to new product development.
Pay
$17 / hour.
Requirements
Major: Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemistry. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior. General lab skills (handling chemicals, weighing materials, transferring solids and liquids from one container to another, adherence to lab safety rules) Adept with hands-on work. Some knowledge of organic chemistry, documentation of ideas and experimental details in lab notebook Good time management. Data analysis.
Organized. Good communication skill and time management. Attention to details, inquisitive, good notes taker, desire to learn and grow.

Maintains the integrity of the expense reimbursement system by adding and deleting associates when needed and making sure that the correct information is attached to each employee.

Creates rules and policies in Concur so that the system automatically audits according to our corporate policies.
Manages the Mexican General Ledger in SAP
Manages and maintains both the internal fiscal year general ledger as well as the statutory calendar year general ledger in SAP to comply with Mexican law.
Works with the Mexican auditors to close the statutory ledger during the annual audit
Other
Provide support for and files the Sales & Use tax filings.
Completes and files US Dept of Commerce and Census government forms as needed.
Manages the 1099 and 1096 filings for the corporation.
Researches journal entries and miscellaneous budgetary variances during the month-end process.
Cross trains in aspects of our A/P, A/R, and Cash Application functions in order to provide a viable backup to those critical areas of the Finance Department operation.
Assists in the annual budget preparation.
Inputs and revises departmental budget information.
Creates monthly reports for department heads and communicates directly with them regarding monthly budgetary variances.
Other projects as deemed necessary by Finance Department managers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Strong spreadsheet skills, ability to understand accounting and financial reporting systems.
Working knowledge of SOx procedures and SAP, HFM and Concur experience a desired, but not required.
7+ years of experience in the relevant field.

Responsibilities:

Category Strategy and Management
Develop, document, communicate & maintain category strategies for assigned commodity.
