We are seeking an experienced Flight Dynamics Team Lead to join a growing Algorithms and Software group working on complex, safety-critical space missions.
This is a senior technical and people-leadership role, responsible for leading a team of Flight Dynamics engineers delivering the full flight dynamics software capability across mission design, validation, and on-orbit operations.
Youll play a key role across the entire mission lifecycle, from early trajectory and mission design through to operational support, while providing technical leadership, mentorship, and line management to a highly skilled engineering team.
You will lead the design, development, implementation, and validation of flight dynamics software and tools supporting advanced spacecraft operations, including rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO).
Working closely with GNC, systems, software, ground segment, and operations teams, youll ensure robust, mission-ready solutions are delivered on time and to the highest technical standards.
Key responsibilities
Flight Dynamics & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, validation, and maintenance of flight dynamics systems and software
- Design and optimise spacecraft trajectories to meet mission requirements
- Oversee the development and implementation of flight dynamics algorithms for operational missions
- Review and approve flight dynamics designs, procedures, and technical documentation
- Capture and manage requirements, translating them into use cases and user stories
- Support spacecraft operations teams by resolving technical issues and advising on best practice
- Act as technical authority / product owner when interfacing with external suppliers
- Produce and maintain high-quality project documentation (requirements, V&V plans, test procedures, reports)
Team Leadership & Management
- Provide line management, including workload prioritisation, performance reviews, and development planning
- Plan and allocate technical work in line with project milestones and team capability
- Take overall accountability for the teams technical output
- Support internal and external technical reviews and programme gates
- Identify resourcing or skills gaps and work with leadership to address them
- Support recruitment through CV review and interviewing
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and career development for team members

Collaboration
- Work closely with GNC, systems, software, ground segment, and project management teams

Essential skills & experience
- Masters degree in Astronautics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years experience in spacecraft flight dynamics
- 3+ years experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics, estimation theory, and optimisation techniques
- Experience with mission design, orbit determination, manoeuvre planning, and operational support
- Hands-on experience with flight dynamics tools (e.g.
STK, GMAT, FreeFlyer)
- Strong scripting/analysis skills (Python, MATLAB)
- Experience across the software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g.

The Role of the Territory Manager
Our client sells a range of advanced wound care dressings, absorbents, skin protectants, peak flow meters, gloves, & surgical tapes
70% of the business will be in the community + 30% in the NHS/Acute
To promote, sell and ensure proper distribution of products from the product portfolio in both the Acute and Community.
To reach sales targets for the Sales Territory using effective communication methods in a manner that ensures ethical commercial approach, as well as adherence to corporate vision and guidelines.
Customers will include TVNs, Procurement, Nursing Homes, Stoma Nurses, Incontinence Nurses, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, District Nurses and a range of Key Opinion Leaders.
The Territory Manager is required to promote, sell, and ensure formulary compliance for products in the range in both the acute and community for the defined Sales Territory to ensure Sales targets are achieved.
It is important to work closely with the Clinical Nurse Advisors and Business Development Managers within the team to enhance your sales success
Participation with the Regional Business Manager, Clinical Nurse Advisor and Business Development Manager in the development and implementation of local business plans with the aim of achieving high compliance with new Formulary Awards and driving market share growth to achieve sales targets.
Close working with the Business Development Manager & Clinical Nurse Advisor within the Region to ensure all hospital and community Formularies are secured and fully compliant.
Covering the Northumberland, Stockon-on-Tees, Clevland, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Darlington & North Cumbria
The Ideal Person for the Territory Manager
Wound care experience both acute and community
Will also consider pharma, devices or medical consumables.
Need to understand the NHS buying landscape
Understands the prescription route
Confident product demonstrator
Solid communication skills especially with anatomy & physiology
Someone used to selling into hospitals, quick learner, have a sense of urgency.
You will need to be a strong team player.
The ideal candidate is energetic and looking to make a name for themselves.
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding challenging targets
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite software and the internet
A full driving licence
