GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Maintenance Technician performs scheduled and unplanned plant process maintenance and repairs.
Responds to unscheduled maintenance issues as required.
Maintains parts inventories, submits purchase requisitions, and maintains equipment files.
Communicates job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoots, plans, modifies, and repairs/rebuilds all types of plant equipment.
Performs basic electrical troubleshooting, repair, and construction, as required.
Tests new or repaired equipment to assure satisfactory performance.
Modifies/fabricates as required, using welder, cutting torches and various machines and tools .
Keeps equipment, maintenance shop, and job sites in a clean and orderly condition.
Works in accordance with OSHA and Tremco safety policies and procedures.
Works from ladders, lifts, elevated places, and confined spaces, as required.
Documents work completed; reports job outcome/supplies.
Daily handoff /communication with other shifts.
Details job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel.
Submits requisitions for repair/replacement parts, as necessary.
Enters MRO receipts in SAP system, maintains parts inventory/shop/equipment files/records.
Lifts up to 50 lbs., as required.
Heavier parts/materials will be handled using other methods.
Works with solvents, degreasers, lubricants, and other common industrial chemicals.
Works with minimal supervision.
Directs work of others, as required (contractors, operators, etc.)
Researches equipment/facility needs, as appropriate, through manuals, files, internet, etc.
Regular hours/shifts may vary as production and maintenance coverage needs dictate.
Must have thorough knowledge of all plant equipment, machinery, and processes
Performs other job duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required.
EXPERIENCE:
One-year certificate from college or technical school and 1-2 years' experience OR
High School Diploma and 2 years' experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

The primary result expected from the Assistant Supervisor-Filling will be to supervise the department to ensure the manufacturing of paint and related products by directing and coordinating the daily activities under the guidance of the shift supervisor, executing the shift production work schedule as dictated via the production plan, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized working environment. Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: Enforce health and safety regulations. Help coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training. Observe work and monitor all indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards. Confer with management to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Responsibilities/Expectations: Communicate with Supervisors, peers: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person. Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality. Learn all manual tasks performed within the department. Learn to operate all equipment in filling and packaging areas. Fill in for operators on a as need basis. Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures. Complete work functions within Chemical production operations.
Responsible for the quality blending of finished products and the bulk, drum, and pail packaging of products.
Full understanding of Chemical Hazards specific to area assigned to, including PPE.
General forklift duties.
The core responsibility for blending and packaging of products demands the use of mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, mixing equipment, and automation control systems.
Completion and compliance of all safety initiatives and certification requirements including all near miss and incident reporting.
Accountable for the data entry of production tickets, good receipts, and shipping documentation.
Daily inspection of work area and monthly document reporting.
Ensure that a clean organized work environment is maintained at all times.
Assist with physical inventory counts and processes.
Compliance with all applicable ISO requirements.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred, 2-year Process Technology Degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Preferred, Manufacturing, Chemical or Technical experience 2+ years.
Preferred, Forklift experience certified.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Good Attendance record.
Able to Work 12-hour shift: Dupont Schedule, Day and Graveyard rotation.
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head throughout the day,
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Must be able to wear fall protection, and work at heights.
Must be able to wear respirator approx.
2 hours per day and work in confined spaces.
Forklift experience certified.
24 hour Hazpower.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
The hourly starting rate for applicants in this position wage is $25.00 plus a $1.00 shift premium.
This amount is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
This position is also eligible for a 6% annual bonus.
This position will practice the DuPont work schedule.
