The Process Engineer will manage and commercialize new processes developed by the Research and Development department into full scale production within the Tremco Corsicana plant.
The Process Engineer will determine which equipment in the plant is most suited to make new products and what modifications may be necessary for such production to successfully occur. Over the next two years, the Tremco Corsicana facility will design, construct, and commission a new reactor.
This new major plant expansion will introduce new production capabilities to the Corsicana facility and is expected to serve as a model project for further plant modernization efforts.
The employee filling this role will lead this expansion project all the way through the commissioning and scaleup phases. In addition to supporting new products and plant expansions, this individual will also manage and optimize existing processes throughout the plant with the goals of maximizing yield and minimizing batch cycle times. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Safety The Process Engineer will actively participate in process safety reviews, and process hazards analysis as the technical representative. Must understand the hazards of the raw materials, processes, and products in order to develop a safe manufacturing process. Our partner is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their talented engineering team to collaboratively design and build advanced systems.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- Utilise innovative design skills in electro-mechanical mechanisms and precision machinery.
- Serve as the technical lead within a small, multidisciplinary project design team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet cost, time, and quality objectives.
- Lead the creation of designs using 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with the team to conduct classical engineering analysis on designs, including stress, fatigue, and vibration, using both conventional methods and computer simulations.
- Perform lab testing to verify and ensure design outputs meet the required specifications.
- Lead the development of engineering reports to support new product designs, failure investigations, and other formal documentation to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate electronic, control, and drive systems into equipment designs.
Key Skills and Experience for the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Essential
- Experience in the design of complex mechanisms and structures.
- Proven experience in the design of systems from original concept design, produced from a specification, through to production in a lead role.
- Ability to analyse the loads on, and design solutions for drive mechanisms and motor systems.
- Understand the application of machining, casting, fabrication, and moulding techniques.
- Have experience in the use of a 3D CAD system (ideally SolidWorks).
Desirable -
- Experience of working in the Defence or related sectors particularly in R&D and manufacturing, such as scientific equipment manufacturers, special purpose machine builders or high-end customisation companies.
- Experience and knowledge of coaching in support of talent development within the team.
- Previous experience in a similar level position in a Senior level role, preferably in a small or medium-sized company and/or relevant business model.
- Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience of working and delivering within a continuous improvement environment coupled with a personal drive for continuous improvement.
