GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
During each term as a Process Engineering Co-Op they will have the opportunity to learn, experience and contribute to the operations of the polyurethane sealants and coatings manufacturing process.
The co-op will develop an understanding of the relationship between the manufacturing process and the various teams that support the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will work in conjunction with the process and quality engineering group to support safety, quality, maintenance and production processes.
Learn and use process tools such as Process Safety Management, Behavioral Risk Improvement and Lean Six-Sigma tools including 5S, A3 Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control and Value Stream Mapping.
Interaction with the plant will be part of the daily routine.
Some responsibilities are, but not limited to: Lead small projects for improvement of a process or equipment Collect data for process waste reduction Edit or create P&IDs Work alongside Process Engineers on Capital Expense Projects Conduct meetings to communicate information or collaborate on projects Serve as a back-up for the Quality Lab Safety
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The Process Engineer will manage and commercialize new processes developed by the Research and Development department into full scale production within the Tremco Corsicana plant.
The Process Engineer will determine which equipment in the plant is most suited to make new products and what modifications may be necessary for such production to successfully occur. Over the next two years, the Tremco Corsicana facility will design, construct, and commission a new reactor.
This new major plant expansion will introduce new production capabilities to the Corsicana facility and is expected to serve as a model project for further plant modernization efforts.
The employee filling this role will lead this expansion project all the way through the commissioning and scaleup phases. In addition to supporting new products and plant expansions, this individual will also manage and optimize existing processes throughout the plant with the goals of maximizing yield and minimizing batch cycle times. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Safety The Process Engineer will actively participate in process safety reviews, and process hazards analysis as the technical representative. Must understand the hazards of the raw materials, processes, and products in order to develop a safe manufacturing process. Subject matter expert in wide range of chemical plant processes and systems.
Perform safety vent calculations for process upset conditions. Determine the correct control systems and interlocks to safely operate the process. Participate in plantwide process safety programs. LEAN Culture Use knowledge of existing processes to propose process modifications which will reduce waste. The Process Engineer, will be the technical consultant to the plant continuous improvement team. Understand the principle and philosophy behind the implementation of a LEAN culture. Product Quality Provide process knowledge to quality control department in order to troubleshoot quality issues. After developing a new process, coordinate the training of operators with a focus on quality critical product specifications, Standard Operating Procedures and process parameters. Productivity Use knowledge of the manufacturing process to improve productivity through elimination of non-value-added activities. Lead the effort to identify causes which result in productivity levels below the expected. Participate with maintenance in facility continuous improvement programs MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (special skills, knowledge, ability, education, etc.): Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Chemical Engineering.
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
Knowledge of SAP and demonstrated basic knowledge of Process Control Systems.
EXPERIENCE:

Analyze space requirements and workflow, and design the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and an ergonomically sound work environment. Strong SolidWorks design and drawing package skills that meet project deadlines and internal/external customer needs. Demonstrated team leadership with strong communication skills. This level requires the following certifications: SolidWorks CAD Design Professional (CSWP) Manufacturing Engineer II perform broader range of duties, proven skillset to fully perform Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities, more technically complex tasks, expected to set an example of professional efficiency, and provide technical direction to less experienced staff.

The Role of the Fitter?
As the Fitter you’ll be based at the companies Leeds plant.
The role of the fitter will see you carry out routine plant maintenance and fitting, alongside planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks on the plant.??
You’ll work closely with the plant manager to ensure spare parts are on-site.?
Working Monday- Friday, with weekend/out of hours when required for important maintenance/repairs.
A busy plant, which delivers 500,000 tonnes.
? The Ideal Person for the Fitter?
Experience of working as a Fitter in a similar production environment e.g Asphalt, Concrete, aggregates etc would be desirable but not essential.??
Individuals from a welding/fabrication background are encouraged to apply- the fitting element can be taught.?
A good understanding of Health and Safety.?
Good communication skills and teamwork are required.?
Will be flexible with regards to working hours- weekends & out of hours when required.
Will have a full driving licence.?
