GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Machine Operator starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely.
There are three Machine Operator levels (I, II, & III).
The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s).
Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications.
Perform routine inspections per quality standards.
Understand production instructions.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Package, label, and store products.
Cross-train on other production functions as business need dictates.
Clean and maintain assigned area to ensure proper functionality.
Report and assist with resolving safety, quality, and mechanical issues.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
If appropriate, set up and operate various off-line and secondary equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: No formal educational requirement. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior work experience or training required. Previous experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment requiring speed and dexterity is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift Licensecertified.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to function effectively in a team setting.

Stages and charges necessary raw materials into process flow tanks.
Follows batch work instructions in order to manufacture quality products.
Prepares disperser and letdown tank for production, including any necessary equipment clean up.
Monitors and controls high-speed disperser, mixer, pumps, flow meters and other instruments in order to make sure that a batch is produced according to work instructions.
Adjust a batch, under QC guidance, until it is approved.
Get batch tickets from floor supervisor and discuss with floor supervisor the best order.
Determine raw materials needed.
Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program.
May assist in other departments such as filling, and material handling or help make sample batches
Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor
Responsible for Dust collector cleanouts when required.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of production experience (compounding/batchmaking)
Able to read batch tickets and prepare labels for products; basic math
Able to operate high-speed dispersers and other operating equipment
Ability to lift 50-100 pounds, read digital scales and flow meters
Experienced forklift operator

This position supports the plant's manufacturing operation by ensuring the various packaging and filling equipment within our dry products department runs smoothly and minimizes downtime. Below ais the available shift schedule:
1st Shift (Monday to Thursday from 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM) Overtime is available/required.
Associates earn double-time pay for all hours worked in excess of 50 hours in your standard work week! Responsibilities: Operates a variety of packaging and filling lines including: placing of packaging on the line, monitoring the filling operation, packing-off finished product, performing quality checks and assisting in the cleaning and changeover of the line. Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory by proper reporting of material usage, minimizing waste, reporting any spills, and ensuring all items per case and cases per pallet counts are accurate. Utilize RF scanner and SAP system. Maintain production logs to accurately record downtime/issues.
Completes all paperwork accurately. Performs housekeeping duties to ensure a neat and orderly work area. Abides by all departmental and plant safety rules. Works in other areas as required by business needs. Requirements: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
regularly and stand for periods of up to 3 hours at a time Must be able to team lift 70-100 lbs.
occasionally Ability to climb steps/ladders Ability to become a licensed DAP forklift driver Must wear required PPE at all times throughout the shift (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes) Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others

Position Overview

Roles and Responsibilities
