Breakdown Controller needed, days, rota work, 25 days holiday + BH, permanent position, paying up to £28k, working for a well-established, growing automotive company.
Location of the Breakdown Controller: Halifax area
The Breakdown Controller will support the supervision of maintenance and repair activities, working closely with the service team to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
The role also involves maintaining correct data in in-house systems, covering regional controller absences, and assisting with general administration when required.
This role suits someone from an automotive background: Service coordinator role, Technical Customer service, Parts advisor, Roadside assistance controller, Fleet administrator, Service desk controller….
Responsibilities for the Breakdown Controller role:
Handle customer calls and log repair requests.
Allocate Field Service Engineers and reschedule jobs as needed.
Liaise with service supervisors and managers, keeping customers updated on job progress.
Manage daily queries from internal and external customers.
Ensure service records and parts sales are accurately recorded and passed to the technical team.
Provide data and updates on completed or outstanding service work.
Support team members and collaborate with other departments on ongoing projects.
Carry out any additional duties to support business needs.

Essential Functions:
Responsible for oversight and execution of all elements of regional installer recruiting, development and management Direct management of Quality Assurance Manager and Installation Coordinator, including hiring, training and performance management. Responsible for recruitment of installation resources as needed to sufficiently meet regional installation demands, including orientation and on-boarding. Responsible for quarterly administration and reporting to construction division leadership and sales management on regional manpower utilization.
This includes capacity tracking; installer needs and use of surge installers to meet demand. Conducts required field rides and coaching trips with direct reports and Installers as needed. Adjudication/mediation for installer issues. Conducts weekly regional operations team calls. Coordinates with RCM/GM on annual installer review meetings. Reviews project SOW/Work Orders for installations as needed. Works with Superintendents and TMs for installer scheduling, development and management within region. Support RCM/AM with training needs of Superintendents and TMs. Spends at least three days per week in the field, working with team members including training/on-boarding and management of installation partners. Tracking and support for all global account installations within the region, confirming execution in alignment with Global Accounts Management.
Minimum Requirements
B.S.
Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Civil) or Construction Management preferred.
In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. A proven ability to manage projects and clearly communicate key project details.
Demonstrates the ability to lead and organize a team. Experience working with general contractors and subcontractors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Spend at least three days per week in the field Required travel can be up to 50%/time in the field. Must possess reliable transportation Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct the daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project with the Sales Rep, customer and the WTI Crew.
Inspect and ensure all surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns.
Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit to the Supervisors as applicable Ensure all project communication is completed prior to the start of any WTI project.
This includes but is not limited to communication with: Sales Rep on weekly/daily schedule WTI crew members to discuss scope of work and daily tasks The customer pre-arrival, at arrival and at completion of the day's work WTI Supervisor on schedule changes, project, and crew updates, etc. Efficient project management will include managing crew start and end times and production rates, ensuring tools and materials are available to complete the assigned project safely and efficiently, and completing the project per the scope or work or specification. The WTI Foreman will complete an end of day and/or end of project walk through to ensure quality repairs and address any items prior to leaving the job site.

Ensure that all WTI Field Reps will have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer. The Field Resource Foreman is responsible for the ordering, tracking, and monitoring inventory and ensure Quarterly cycle counts are completed and submitted timely. Per pricing procedures review each field service project over $5,000 for pricing accuracy. Submit all projects over $20,000 to the WTI Supervisor prior to submitting to the Sales Rep or customer. Manage, monitor, and document performance of Field Resource Reps and take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee and work-related issues.
Consult with WTI Field Resource Supervisor and Human Resources as needed. Perform any other duty and/or project as required or assigned by the WTI Supervisor and/or Regional Manager.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum five years' experience in the commercial roofing industry. Must be thoroughly familiar with built-up, EPDM, PVC, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems as well as metal and other steep slope roofing systems and how to properly repair them..
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $55,000 and $75,000.

Essential Functions:
Responsible for oversight and execution of all elements of regional installer recruiting, development and management Direct management of Quality Assurance Manager and Installation Coordinator, including hiring, training and performance management. Responsible for recruitment of installation resources as needed to sufficiently meet regional installation demands, including orientation and on-boarding. Responsible for quarterly administration and reporting to construction division leadership and sales management on regional manpower utilization.

Support RCM/AM with training needs of Superintendents and TMs. Spends at least three days per week in the field, working with team members including training/on-boarding and management of installation partners. Minimum Requirements
B.S.
Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Civil) or Construction Management preferred.
In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. A proven ability to manage projects and clearly communicate key project details.
Demonstrates the ability to lead and organize a team. Experience working with general contractors and subcontractors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Spend at least three days per week in the field Required travel can be up to 50%/time in the field. Must possess reliable transportation Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. What will you do?
A penchant for business development, working out of your own office, you'll meet & engage new and repeat customers in your territory; assessing their needs, you will provide a truly consultative Stonhard solution. Customer sales calls include a mix of existing/repeat business along with prospecting for new customers and projects. Closely work with your manager to meet & exceed sales goals. Participate in overseeing the successful delivery of product installation, ensuring optimum customer satisfaction.
Project management responsibilities include ensuring raw materials are on site, construction crews have everything they need and troubleshooting any installation issues that may come up. Full turn-key operation ensures a smooth install and helps secure next project in another area or building. Will participate in an enriching training process spanning over two years, traveling to our headquarters for pre-planned, scheduled training(s).
Compensation Package:
Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 Uncapped Commission potential (First 2 years average): approx.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The WTI Field Resource Foreman (Foreman) oversees and performs the safety, efficiency, and quality of the WTI field service business.

Efficient management of projects will include managing the crew's start and end times, daily productivity (hours, man-days, etc.), and ensuring tools and materials are available to complete the assigned project safely and efficiently.
Complete the project per the approved scope of work or specification and after issuance by the Supervisor.
Using a designated company-mandated reporting tool, the Foreman will complete an end-of-day and/or end-of-project walk-through to ensure the quality of workmanship and address any punch list items before leaving the job site.
These items will include updates on work performed, materials consumed (T&M projects), and supplies purchased.
Ensure all WTI Field Resources Reps (Field Reps) have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer.
Responsible for ordering, tracking, and monitoring inventory and ensuring quarterly cycle counts are completed and submitted timely.
Provide pricing for self-performing projects over $12,500.
Submit all proposals of over $20,000 to the Supervisor for review and approval before submitting them to the GS Administrator for logging and distribution to the Sales Rep.
Monitor and manage the Field Reps.
Consult with the Supervisor to take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee work-related issues and necessary documentation.
Work with the Supervisor to elevate the issues to HR as required.
Coordinate with the Supervisor to create project schedules.
Review time reports daily and make necessary corrections with the admin team.
Attending all appropriate calls, meetings, and trainings.
Perform any other duties and/or projects as required or assigned by the Supervisor or Regional Business Manager.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of experience in the roofing industry.
Must be thoroughly familiar with built-up, EPDM, PVC, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems, as well as metal and other steep-sloop roofing systems, and how to repair them properly.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 30-hour OSHA certification Registered Roof Observer (RRO) preferred but not required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Minimum Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
Preferred: completed of 30 credit hours.
Available to work 30-40 hours per week from May through August.
Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
Expect light physical activity and extended computer use (up to 8 hours/day).
Occasional visits to the production floor will require proper footwear and PPE.
Must be able to lift/move up to 15 pounds as needed.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; noise level is typically moderate.
Students must have housing arrangements in or near Green Bay, WI for the summer, as housing allowance is not provided.

Support Focused Improvement Team (FIT) events - including Level 3 Kaizen initiatives.
Help with event prep and follow-up, ensuring momentum and results.

Brainstorm and implement performance-boosting ideas that enhance productivity, communication, and execution.
Apply Lean Six Sigma problem solving tools to help analyze and mitigate a wide range of issues of varying complexity.
