As our Materials Manager you will plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of buyers - purchasing materials, components & supplies to support manufacturing operation.
Oversee inventory management, including cycle counting, setting inventory targets to achieve year end inventory reduction goals & scheduling filling lines. Solving challenges is the very foundation of who we are.

Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Develop and implement purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures.
Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers. Prepare plant schedule for filling, polymer, batch making and bulk deliveries.
Provide year end data for environmental permits, etc. post cycle counts & investigate discrepancies exceeding corporate standards. supervise & develop materials department staff. coordinate with corporate & plant personnel to achieve monthly volume requirements. Communicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person. Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality. Learn all manual tasks performed within the department. Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures. Treat people with dignity and respect. Conduct all business with integrity. Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities. Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Required Skills Bachelor's degree in business, Chemistry or Supply Chain. 5-10 years of management experience in manufacturing/chemical processing environment. Prior paint manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Ability to supervise/manage associates. Proven abilities to successfully drive continuous improvement, manage multiple priorities, and multitask. Ability to collaborate well with other peer groups. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills.

This is a key position requiring excellent communication, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
You'll work closely with internal teams, including Product Development, Merchandising, Purchasing, and Quality Control, as well as with international suppliers.Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a main point of contact for 50+ factories across the Far East.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with all suppliers.
Ensure supplier compliance with Trading Agreements and our Code of Conduct.
Contribute to supplier reviews, recognising strong performance and addressing areas for improvement.
Produce quarterly supplier performance summaries for internal team reviews.
Actively support the Critical Path Process to meet seasonal deadlines.
Assist with onboarding new suppliers, including training and documentation.
Maintain up-to-date supplier files and reference materials for internal use.
Communicate business-as-usual (BAU) standards clearly with all new suppliers.
Research and present four potential new suppliers each month to support sourcing expansion.
Contribute to supply chain mapping and visibility projects.
Collect and file CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) reports; organise information for internal access and training.
Proactively manage delays, non-compliance, and other issues with relevant stakeholders.
Identify sourcing risks and propose solutions to improve efficiency, consistency, and cost control.
Supply accurate pricing and lead times for bespoke customer orders.
Coordinate communication between customers and suppliers through to delivery.
Review and refine special order processes to improve speed and service.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or logistics
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of ethical sourcing practices and supplier compliance processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain software; familiarity with AI tools is an advantage
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail
GCSE-level qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Further education beyond GCSE level, whether academic or vocational is desirable
A CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification is desirable, or an interest in obtaining this qualification alongside this role.
Desirable Experience:
Understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs procedures (UK & EU)
Exposure to working with Far East suppliers
Experience working to a Critical Path is an advantage

Direct Reports/Manages others: No As our Corporate Buyer, you will analyze material requirements, previous purchases and forecast report to determine the needs of a fast-paced organization.
Use the current optimization process to procure finished goods, raw materials and components for use in paint or paint-related materials..
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and purchase finished goods, raw materials, and components by analyzing MRP and forecast reports to determine optimal order quantity and date required. Review daily exception messages generated by MRP system and maintain the optimization process for all finished goods, raw materials, and components with respective MRP group. Maintain vendor relationships by following up on delivery dates, reconciling invoicing issues, and dealing with quality issues. Support product-to-market process by working with Sourcing, Marketing, Finance, as well as external vendors to ensure the on-time launch of new products.
Such tasks include the set-up of artwork, bills of material, information records, source lists, and costing. Analyze subcontract purchase price variance (PPV) by running PPV reports and reporting on favorable/unfavorable PPV.
Fix costing & bill of material errors identified in the analysis process. Conduct on-site vendor physical inventories by meeting schedule set by Purchasing Manager.
Obtain counts from vendors, create spreadsheets to analyze, and perform SAP transactions to reconcile counts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
