JOB DESCRIPTION
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Intern to support a structured maintenance inventory improvement project within our food production facility.
This role will focus on organizing and validating maintenance spare parts while gaining hands-on experience with our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
The intern will work closely with maintenance and production teams to improve inventory accuracy, equipment data integrity, and overall operational reliability in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
KEY DUTIES & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct physical inventory counts of maintenance spare parts, critical components, and consumables
Organize and label storeroom inventory in alignment with food safety and plant standards
Reconcile physical inventory with CMMS and purchasing records
Assist with cleaning and standardizing asset and parts data within the CMMS
Support development and updating of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
Help build and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production equipment
Identify obsolete or excess inventory and support optimization efforts
Collaborate with maintenance technicians to verify equipment information and parts usage
Document inventory control and CMMS processes to support long-term sustainability
Record operational and production data on specified forms
Maintain a clean work area
Frequently Walk; Reach with hands and arms; the employee is regularly stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; Talk, hear.
Perform all work in accordance with GMP's, housekeeping, good safety practices, and environmental regulations.
Adheres to all safety and quality procedures/regulations

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to follow food safety, GMP, and plant safety protocols

Essential Functions:
Stage and prepare all raw materials associated with production batches.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness in batch making and packaging areas, with active engagement in positive safety behavior.
Communicates (gives a heads up) low levels of raw material to supervisory staff.
Develops good working knowledge of all batch making and packaging processes.
Maintains good working relationship with Quality Control.

Makes batches and operates packaging equipment efficiently.

Assist in hazardous waste handling when needed under the guidance from production management/supervisors or RCRA.
Preferred Requirements:
College Level chemistry course experience.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2-year prior related experience of 1 year experience as a production batch maker.
Physical Requirements:
Must pass standard eye examination (corrected or uncorrected) and must pass standard color-tone testing.
Must be capable of wearing Company standard respirators as qualified by fit test performed by an authorized agency.
Must be capable of lifting between 25-70 lbs.
This position requires consistent wearing of safety glasses, gloves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes; with additional specific PPE depending on the chemicals or materials handled, which could include respirators, hearing protection, or specialized gloves for hazardous substances.

We employ approximately 140 people across both production and office functions.With a strong reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction, we are continuing to strengthen our quality function to support production.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our small, dedicated quality team.
Together, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving product quality across both in-house manufacturing and third-party suppliers.This is a hands-on role, working across the factory floor and supporting supplier quality assurance.
You will play a key role in ensuring consistent standards are upheld throughout the entire supply chain.Key Responsibilities
Carry out in-process and final inspections of furniture components and finished productsSupport quality oversight of third-party manufacturers and suppliers, including incoming goods checksIdentify, record, and help resolve defects in collaboration with production teams and suppliersAssist in maintaining and improving quality control processes and proceduresConduct incoming inspection of materials and outsourced productsContribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issuesMaintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentationSupport investigations into customer complaints and non-conformancesPromote a consistent culture of quality across both internal teams and external partners
About You
Previous experience in a quality, inspection, or manufacturing role (ideally furniture, wood, or related industry)Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solvingComfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative teamAbility to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliersExperience reading drawings/specifications (advantageous)Good basic IT and reporting skills
We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have worked as a Quality Assurance Technician, Quality Inspector, Quality Controller, Quality Technician, Supplier Quality Technician, Manufacturing Quality Technician, Production Quality Inspector, or similar quality-focused role within furniture manufacturing, woodworking, joinery, cabinetry, interiors, fit-out, kitchen manufacturing, bedroom furniture manufacturing or other production and manufacturing environments.What We Offer
