An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Product Designer to join a well-established health research organisation and charity supporting large-scale medical research to improve disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will design accessible, user-focused digital experiences while contributing across the full design process, from understanding user needs through to prototyping, testing and delivery.
This is a 6-month contract-based role offering hybrid / remote working options, salary range of £500 - £600 (DOE) per day (Inside IR35) and benefits.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Leading UX and UI design work across discovery, development and validation.
* Designing clear and accessible journeys that help users understand and respond to research opportunities.
* Creating prototypes, testing ideas and refining designs based on evidence and feedback.
* Working closely with product managers, researchers, content designers, behavioural specialists and engineers.
* Turning user research and stakeholder insight into practical, intuitive design solutions.
* Designing clear experiences for healthcare information, recommendations and research-related content.
* Helping improve consistency across related services, including shared design approaches and practices.
* Working with clinical, technical, product and business stakeholders to shape design recommendations.
* Explaining design choices, thinking and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Applying design systems, accessibility standards and ethical considerations throughout the design process.
* Contributing to product priorities, roadmaps and the wider design direction.
The candidates from the following background will be considered:
* Previously worked as a Senior Product Designer, Product Designer, Senior UX/UI Designer, Senior UI/UX Designer, Lead Product Designer, Digital Product Designer, Product Design Lead or in a similar role.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential:
* Proven experience working as a Product Designer within modern digital product environments.
* Strong end-to-end UX and UI design experience, covering discovery, prototyping, validation and delivery.
* Experience working closely with content designers and user researchers.
* A track record of tackling complex user needs and working effectively where requirements may be unclear.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating impactful, user-centred digital product design.
* Ability to turn research findings into meaningful improvements to digital experiences.
* Strong working knowledge of Figma and Miro.
* Experience working within cross-functional Agile product teams.
* A good understanding of accessibility and inclusive design, including experience designing beyond minimum WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.
Desirable:
* Experience designing products, platforms or services within healthcare, research, government or other service-led environments.
* Prior experience working in regulated environments.
* Understanding of behavioural design and techniques that encourage user engagement.
* Experience contributing to design systems and scalable design practices

This role will require expertise in FPGA design, algorithm implementation, and high-speed digital systems development.
Key responsibilities for the Senior FPGA Engineer - Compute Architecture & Hardware Acceleration role (hybrid and Oxford based):
Translate complex probabilistic algorithms from Python, C++, MATLAB and pseudocode into highly pipelined, resource-efficient FPGA RTL designs
Design and implement custom digital logic in VHDL from scratch where vendor IP is unsuitable, introduces latency or creates bottlenecks
Architect and integrate high-speed data acquisition pipelines utilising ultra-fast ADCs, PCIe, high-speed Ethernet and transceiver technologies
Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, researchers and ASIC architects to define system architecture and technical solutions
Develop robust verification environments, perform hardware bring-up activities and optimise timing, power and resource utilisation across multiple clock domains
Key skills required for the Senior FPGA Engineer - Compute Architecture & Hardware Acceleration role:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrable experience of FPGA digital design experience developing complex, high-speed digital systems
Strong HDL expertise with a proven ability to develop custom RTL from scratch
Experience with FPGA SoC platforms, including practical knowledge of processor-side development and PS/PL architectures such as Zynq
Proven ability to translate mathematical or algorithmic models into hardware accelerators using fixed-point arithmetic and bit-accurate modelling techniques
Strong understanding of timing closure, clock domain crossing (CDC) and advanced digital design principles
Experience with Xilinx Vivado, Vitis and TCL scripting toolchains
Familiarity with hardware debugging tools including oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG debuggers and signal generators
