GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of process and facility-related equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with all safety policies (especially Cardinal Rules - e.g.
Hot Work, LOTO, Confined Space),
Partner with Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager to support LEAN initiatives to eliminate unplanned production interruptions due to process equipment failure,
Implement the needed preventative measures, including optimization of PM program,
Ensure reliable operation of facility support processes and utilities (i.e.
HVAC, Steam Boilers, Air Compressors, Tow motors, Cooling Towers, Hot Oil Heaters),
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility electrical systems (e.g.
programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, lighting) and components (e.g.
sensors, switches, valves),
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility mechanical systems (e.g.
product vessels/reactors, pumps) and components (e.g.
piping, manual valves),
Investigate equipment/process failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation,
Assist Maintenance Supervisor to arrange and coordinate contractor tasks (including equipment rental) to support facility and process maintenance/repairs,
Serve, as needed, on process hazard analysis (PHA) teams/sessions
EDUCATION
High School Diploma required
EXPERIENCE
One-year certificate from college or technical school and 1-2 years' experience OR
High School Diploma and 4 years' experience
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.

Hours: Between 8:30am - 6:30pm, Monday to Friday

The Role As a Mobile HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of specialist HGVs, both on customer sites and at depot level.
This is a customer-facing position where professionalism, technical expertise, and pride in your work are key.Key Responsibilities
Carry out diagnostic analysis, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Provide a high-quality, customer-facing technical support service
Complete PDI inspections and planned maintenance activities
Repair vehicles and equipment on-site or at depot in line with manufacturer and company standards
Handover equipment to customers and demonstrate safe operation procedures
Accurately complete all paperwork including job sheets, inspection reports, and calibrations
Act as a professional ambassador for the business at all times
Perform mechanical maintenance, testing, and repairs on:
Hydraulic systems
Pneumatic systems
Pumps, compressors, motors, and ancillary equipment
Read and interpret schematic drawings
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in auto-electrical fault diagnosis and repair
Confident using electronic diagnostic equipment
Hands-on experience with HGVs or specialist vehicles
Backgrounds considered:
Mobile HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic or workshop based
PSV Technician / Bus Mechanic
Heavy Plant Fitter
Desirable - Experience working with Distribution Tractors, Ro-Ro Tractors and other specialist vehicles.
Additional Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
City & Guilds Level 3 - Vehicle Mechanical & Electronic Systems (Maintenance & Repair) or equivalent (advantageous)

Repairs chemical hoses, reactors, tanks, lines and other miscellaneous plant equipment. Executes tasks and project responsibilities from maintenance meetings, daily updates, and compliance & PM scheduled activities does so with independent time management that may result in change of tasks planned for the workday. Provides on call and over-times support as needed in the evenings and other required times designated by management. Suggests improvements for safety and compliance.
Background Requirements:
