Job Title: Housing Disrepair Fee Earner
Location: Blackburn
My client is a leading PI Law firm and they are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Housing Disrepair Fee Earner to join the team.
As a Housing Disrepair Fee Earner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of housing disrepair claims from inception through to completion.
You will work closely with clients to assess the extent of disrepair in their properties, negotiate settlements with landlords or housing authorities, and provide expert legal advice and representation where necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims, ensuring timely progression and resolution.
- Conduct thorough investigations into housing disrepair issues, including property inspections and gathering of evidence.
- Liaise with clients to understand their needs and objectives and provide clear and concise legal advice.
- Negotiate settlements with landlords or housing authorities, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including letters of claim, court proceedings, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations when required.
- Keep abreast of relevant legislation, case law, and procedural developments within housing disrepair law.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Housing Disrepair Fee Earner within a legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of housing disrepair law and procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Relevant legal qualifications and/or certifications preferred.
