GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
During each term as a Process Engineering Co-Op they will have the opportunity to learn, experience and contribute to the operations of the polyurethane sealants and coatings manufacturing process.
The co-op will develop an understanding of the relationship between the manufacturing process and the various teams that support the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will work in conjunction with the process and quality engineering group to support safety, quality, maintenance and production processes.
Learn and use process tools such as Process Safety Management, Behavioral Risk Improvement and Lean Six-Sigma tools including 5S, A3 Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control and Value Stream Mapping.
Interaction with the plant will be part of the daily routine.
Some responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Lead small projects for improvement of a process or equipment
Collect data for process waste reduction
Edit or create P&IDs
Work alongside Process Engineers on Capital Expense Projects
Conduct meetings to communicate information or collaborate on projects
Serve as a back-up for the Quality Lab Safety
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma required.

Minimum Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
Preferred: completed of 30 credit hours.
Available to work 30-40 hours per week from May through August.
Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
Expect light physical activity and extended computer use (up to 8 hours/day).
Occasional visits to the production floor will require proper footwear and PPE.
Must be able to lift/move up to 15 pounds as needed.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; noise level is typically moderate.
Students must have housing arrangements in or near Green Bay, WI for the summer, as housing allowance is not provided.

Improves production line efficiency to show a measurable increase in OEE. Support maintenance in equipment troubleshooting. Working knowledge of I/O, PLC, and 24V controls is preferred.
Programming a plus.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems preferred.
Design and coordinate fabrication of manufacturing support components.
Support day-to-day production operations.
Re-engineer existing equipment to meet new optimization, reliability, safety, throughput, and process requirements.
Evaluate and make recommendations, which will increase output and decrease costs by addressing/improving workflow, ergonomics, time/motion characteristics, cycle-times, set-up times, waste, etc.
Confer with management and general staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Ensure CI project goals are met and sustained through the development of effective control plans.
Ensure Continuous Improvement processes and procedures are followed and adhered to through auditing and process confirmation practices.

initiatives in areas of 5S, Waste Reduction, Value-Stream Mapping, etc. Ensure appropriate validations are completed as part of solution implementation.
