IRS recruitment are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pre-Heat Technician to join our clients team on an ongoing basis in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying controlled heat to metal components, including plate and pipe, in preparation for welding and fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities - Apply pre-heating techniques to metal components (plate and pipe) using appropriate heating equipment.
- Monitor and control temperatures in line with specified procedures and job requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Work closely with trade teams to meet production requirements.
- Maintain equipment and report any faults or issues promptly.
Requirements - Previous experience in pre-heating, heat treatment, or a similar role within a fabrication or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of heating processes for plate and pipe materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Awareness of health and safety practices in an industrial setting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic.

Valid CSCS Card
Full UK driving licence
Own car (no van required)
Must live in NE6 postcode or within 10 miles
Role:Working as part of a 2-man team attending construction sites to offload Kitchen Units from HGVs.
You will use your own car to transport yourself and the other labourer to site.
No van is required.
Duties include heavy lifting, unloading kitchen units safely, moving materials into designated areas, and general labouring support.
