My client is a firm of engineering consultants with a number of office around the U.K.
They are now seeking a CIVIL TECHNICIAN with two years + experience post graduation who has some experience of using AutoCAD and Civils 3D and checking design calculations etc.
to join them in LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE.
You will work with one of the leading firms of consulting engineers who work on a good range of building structures including building for offices, retail, residential and industrial sectors.

THE CANDIDATE
You will need to around 2 years or more experience of working as a Civil Technician.
You should have some experience of local roads for residential and other buildings.
You should have experience of underground drainage systems and roads to adoptable standards.
You will need some experience of liaison with statutory bodies e.g.
Water Companies, Local Authorities, the Environment Agency etc.
You need good experience in the use of Civils3D and have experience of using AutoCAD.
You will be able to do preparation and checking of engineering calculations.
You will be able to maintain the quality and consistency of technical output by the team for drawings, reports etc.
You should already have experience of working in a UK firm of consulting engineers.
You need to have a full clean UK driving license to enable you to get to remote sites.
Good communication skills essential to liase with contractors during construction and with other consultants, the client etc.
Salary will be negotiable according to your level of experience but in the region of £30000 to £40000 plus pension and a range of benefits includings good training towards becoming chartered, a pension, personal health care plan, life insurance, 25 days holiday, plus some other benefits.

They are wanting to employ people from Graduate level to Project Manager level who will have several years post graduate experience.
Projects are varied and include high end residential, historic refurbishments, hotels, churches, CAT B office fit outs and more.

THE COMPANY

THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Project Manager either at Graduate level or up to Project Manager level with a few years PM experience on building construction projects.
At Graduate level ideally you will have a Degree or MSc in Construction Project Management and be keen to join a firm of consultants to work towards becoming chartered with the RICS.
At Project Manager level you will have a Degree and several years experience in construction project management ideally working for another firm of construction consultants.
You should also be happy to work as part of a team as required.
You should be able to organise and run meetings, take minutes, make sure that the client's brief is adhered to and be able to keep the project moving to complete on time and within budget.
You should be able to work on several projects concurrently.
You must have excellent written and spoken English and be confident in dealing with people at all levels.

THE ROLE
My client, an established smallish firm of Quantity Surveying consultants now seeks a QUANTITY SURVEYOR at either Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level to join them in their City of London office.
You should be able to run your own projects as a Quantity Surveyor and ideally be able to run several projects concurrently working very closely with the clients, the architects and interior designers.

THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.
My client would like someone at either Project Surveyor level or Senior Surveyor level.
You do not need to be chartered but should have good experience of both pre and post contract work including good experience of contract administration.
You should be able to take ownership of selected live projects from throughout the project right through to handover and completion.
Experience of doing cost plans, tender documentation and undertaking tender analysis.
You need some experience of managing contractor procurement and providing recommendations to the client.
You will also support value engineering exercises to achieve project budgets.
You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e.
BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar and have around 2 plus years experience ideally with a PQS

You should have a stable work record.
