Meredith Contract Services undertake MechArb, Vegetation management, Forestry Ground Prep and Environmental restoration works across Wales and England.

Our highly trained and experienced team use specialist equipment to undertake all aspects of projects from the ground up.

The Roleof an Arboriculture / Forestry Operations Manager:
* Be the first point for contact for the workforce and all site issues.
If the issues require the Directors input, discuss these issues in weekly one to one and come prepared with solutions or opinion on how to resolve.
* First point of contact for clients and maintain constant communication throughout projects.
* Interview, select and recruit the most appropriate new candidates to join the team in line with company values.
* Ensure workforce are issued with correct company branded PPE and signed for.
* Ensure all new starters are inducted and aware of company values and policies.
* Arranging reactive response to equipment breakdowns and insuring downtime and cost is kept to a minimum and routine maintenance is carried out.
* Carry out site / tree surveys using company systems and report findings.
* Ensuring projects are managed correctly and come within budget
* Carry out weekly / monthly planning and any changes to company planner as required during the week
* Ensure each team leaves the yard on time with the correct paperwork, equipment and vehicle.
* Prepare and complete necessary paperwork for jobs
* Attend client meetings and keep well documented notes.
* Report job costs to Director at weekly one to ones for previous week including reasons for jobs overrunning, increase in costs or jobs which have remained unfinished.
* Carry out Safety and Quality Audits and feedback to team members.
* Prepare Risk assessments and method statements in line with company policy's
* Ensure work force are working in a safe manner and abiding to company policys, RAMS and site rules.
* To carry out appraisals for workforce, measuring their performance against KPI's, Company Culture and Traction.
* Assist Office Manager to carry out HR meetings regarding disciplinary proceedings or Grievance's hearings.
* Create and build excellent and long-lasting relationships with Subcontractor companies
* Build and excellent supplier portfolio which can be used for MCS projects.
