We are looking for Business Support Officers within the Children's Service Fostering Finance Team.
These posts would be office based between various locations.
Candidate needs to have excellent communication skills and accuracy in both verbal and written communication understanding is key as this is front line along with no fear of using a telephone or computer.
ABOUT THE JOB
A Business Support Officer is required within the Fostering Finance team.
Duties include:
staff supervision,
work planning,
provision of advice and guidance in relation to requests for the rapid response service including
No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF),
travel and accommodation solutions,
financial and other assistance requests,
progressing the payment of invoices,
updating financial packages provided to children with health and disability needs,
operation of a petty cash account , reconciliations and support for budget holders and Managers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
To maintain the Fostering and Adoption payment database.
2.
To ensure that all payment authorisation documents are processed accurately and promptly and are correctly completed.
3.
To request / chase payment authorisation documents from Social Workers.
4.
To ensure that the payment schedule is processed and information transferred within agreed timescales.
5.
To make and monitor payments to carers.
6.
To provide regular reports and statistical information as required.
7.
To calculate and liaise with Carers in respect of under/over payments.
8.
To deal with insurance claims as required.
9.
To process orders for Fostering equipment and maintain the fostering equipment supplies within the building.
10.
To compile and maintain effective filing systems.
11.
To identify where retainer payments are applicable and present this information to the Team Managers in a weekly meeting.
12.
To provide cover and back up to other members of the Fostering and Adoption administration section.
13.
To assist in the processing of Fostering Applications.
14.
Carry out Criminal Record Bureau, Medical and other background checks for new applicants and existing carers.
15 .Maintain records of checks carried out and when due for review and maintain a register of significant incidents involving foster children and carers.
16.
Create and maintain computerised client records.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING
You must be able to work flexibly and adaptably to changing priorities.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in working to agreed standards and deadlines.
You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Experience in maintaining databases and experience in working with figures is advantageous.
A positive and customer focused attitude is essential, as is an understanding of staff motivation and support.
The work is all office based and 5 days per week 8.30-5 (4.30 Friday)

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility, ensuring all equipment, systems, and infrastructure are maintained in optimal working condition.
This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
The Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of operations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Maintenance Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Assign work orders, prioritize tasks, and manage the daily workload of the maintenance team. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
Maintenance Operations: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities on all equipment, machinery, and systems within the facility. Ensure timely completion of all scheduled maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime. Develop and implement maintenance procedures and best practices. Input maintenance activities into CMMS system.
Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Schedule and participate in regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards or non-compliance issues. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team. Operate the security and alarm system for the site.
Budget and Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs while ensuring high-quality maintenance standards. Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely reordering. Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes and purchase necessary materials.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and safety inspections. Generate and analyze maintenance reports to identify trends, areas for improvement, and equipment performance issues. Report any significant maintenance issues or concerns to the Plant Manager.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations. Participate in cross-functional teams and projects aimed at improving facility operations and efficiency.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field. Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities management environment is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) and other relevant tools. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

Carboline is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Intern at our Manufacturing Plant in Lake Charles, LA. This Intern will work alongside our Continuous Improvement Manager, Plant Managers, and other CI personnel, reporting directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager, with dotted line of accountability to the local Plant Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, additionally the completion of at least 30 credit hours toward a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
Experience related to either manufacturing, industrial, or engineering or enrolling in a program in a related field is also desirable. This paid intern will work roughly 30 - 40 hours per week from May-August.
Must be pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering or a similar field.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require light physical activity and computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.
Work environments may require the use of hearing protection, eye protection, and steel toed shoes.
Essential Functions:
Intern will work alongside our Continuous Improvement Manager, Plant Managers, and other CI personnel performing the following duties: Waste identification and data collection to prioritize resource allocation Daily accountability to continuous improvement framework Participating in, and eventually leading, Focused Improvement Team (FIT) events (level 3 Kaizen) FIT Event preparation and Follow-Up Cost savings calculation and management Develop ideas and make suggestions that can be implemented within the plant to continuously improve performance, productivity, communication, and follow-up Handle special assignments as needed.
