A leading Pensions and Investment firm is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys actuarial work and would like to focus on more technical aspects.
You will be responsible for completing actuarial calculations and communicating results to team members and members of the client teams.
Typical work might include actuarial valuation calculations, funding updates, transfer values, accounting disclosures, risk transfer calculations and GMP equalisation.
This role can be based in London, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Educated to at least a Scottish Higher Grade / A level or equivalent in Math
An understanding of the legislative framework and structure of defined benefit pension schemes
Proven defined benefit actuarial experience.
This role would also be an option for actuarial students who might be looking to move away from a consultancy role and focus on more technical aspects.
Support for those sitting the IFoA examinations is available for those who wish to continue sitting these exams.
Good/advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
An understanding of the legislative framework and structure of defined benefit pension schemes, commensurate with the level of experience in pensions actuarial work
Active team player who can communicate effectively
Keenness to enhance and refine processes where necessary
Accurate and organised
Ability to monitor, prioritise and deliver own workload
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to support and train more junior members of the team
Core Responsibilities:
Perform all necessary data processing, including validation and manipulation at a scheme level.
This will involve occasional coding work using in-house data manipulation system.
Calculating and checking individual member liabilities.
Review scheme information, i.e., benefit summary, benefit changes and discuss anomalies with client teams.
Use Firm's bespoke valuation systems to perform actuarial valuations.
Performing individual and scheme level checks on the output.
Work with the other members of the technical team and people in the wider business on ad-hoc projects to improve efficiency and develop processes.
Carrying out self-checks on all work.
Take responsibility for maintaining knowledge on relevant industry changes which impact on day-to-day work.
Take ownership and responsibility of workload and effectively communicate progress with colleagues.
Flexibility to travel to other offices on an occasional basis.

You will be a part qualified accountant and have gained experience in preparation of management accounts, statutory accounts and dealing with third parties.
This role is 5 days a week in the office.
Skills/Experience:
Part qualified accountant , ideally ACCA with experience in financial services and/or practice
Experience in preparation of management accounts including dealing with third parties
Experience in fund accounting, statutory accounts for limited companies and partnerships is desirable
Experience in Investran and Sage Line 50
Core Responsibilities:
Delivery of management accounts and other financial reporting
Preparation of quarterly management accounts and forecasting for clients
Liaising with fund managers in relation to investor capital calls and drawdowns
Preparing fund drawdown, equalisation and distributions calculations
Preparation and submission of VAT returns and compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines
Review of monthly bank reconciliations, client invoices, expense reports and payment authorisation

Job description
Carboline is looking for a Product Line Manager to work with the Marketing team at our Headquarters, in St.
Louis, MO.
This person will be responsible for the strategic market and product development activities of the specified Carboline product line, along with assisting the Marketing Communications team with advertising and promotions of assigned products.
Works closely with the Research & Development laboratory, field sales representatives, technical service and sales management.
Reports directly into the Director of Global Product Line.
Minimum Requirements:
4-year Business or Marketing degree or equivalent experience, minimum of 8 years marketing experience.
Minimum of 5 years in Protective Coatings or Fireproofing industry.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.
No unusual environmental, lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this position.
Will require occasional international or domestic travel up (30 - 40%).
Essential Functions:
Overall management of the specified product line on a global basis. Identify gaps in the product line and projects to address them. Act as the primary liaison between Sales and R&D in prioritizing product development and/or testing needs.
Collaborate with the Specifier Services Team and the Market Managers to develop strategic initiatives for penetrating Carboline product technology into current and new markets. Identify new strategic markets and applications for the product line. Develop and carry out plans to promote the product line within Carboline and the industry.
Assist the communications team with promotional and marketing strategies as needed. Investigate and recommend future improvements to the product line to ensure superiority in the marketplace. Assist in achieving annual sales and margin objectives. Take on special assignments as directed by management. Assist in making joint calls with field reps to help develop buying and non-buying accounts. Make customer presentations upon request that help promote the respective product line(s) of the Product Line Manager Assist in training new employees as well as customers to understand the category of products and technology respective to the Product Line Manager Become involved in professional societies to promote the product line.
