Holt Recruitment is working with a respected client in the plant and construction equipment sector to find a talented Mobile Plant Engineer to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the go, and providing top-tier service to customers.
As a Mobile Plant Engineer, you will travel to customer sites across Durham and the surrounding areas, carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of plant equipment.
This role would suit a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter who is confident working in the field and delivering high standards of workmanship.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Service & Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on a variety of plant machinery as a Mobile Plant Engineer.
- Diagnostics & Repairs: Fault-find and carry out mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on-site.
- Breakdowns: Respond to emergency call-outs and minimise downtime for customers.
- Parts & Inventory: Maintain van stock and ensure you have the right tools and spares for the job.
- Customer-Facing: Deliver excellent service, explaining repairs and next steps clearly and professionally.
- Reporting: Complete accurate job sheets and service records electronically or via mobile tools.
What Were Looking For:
- Proven experience working as a Mobile Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Mobile Engineer, or Field Service Technician.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical fault finding.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and with minimal supervision essential for a successful Mobile Plant Engineer.
- A confident communicator who takes pride in quality workmanship.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

The CNC Machining and Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the production of aerospace-grade fasteners, precision components, and complex assemblies used across a variety of industries.

This role involves operating advanced manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high-quality components according to engineering drawings and strict customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Machining Operate and support the machining of components using CNC equipment, producing parts directly from engineering drawings and customer specifications.

The technician must ensure that machining processes produce accurate components that meet required tolerances and finish standards.
Forging Carry out the hot forming of aerospace fasteners and components using induction heating and mechanical press equipment.
This process forms metal components to the required shape while maintaining the structural integrity and strength required for high-performance applications.
Grinding Perform centreless grinding operations to refine forged and machined components.
This process ensures components achieve precise dimensions, high surface finishes, and strict tolerance requirements necessary for aerospace and precision engineering standards.
Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) Operate EDM equipment to perform specialised machining operations including EDM drilling, EDM die sinking (spark erosion), and EDM wire cutting.
These techniques allow for the accurate machining of complex geometries and hard materials that are difficult to machine using conventional methods.
Thread Rolling Produce threads using thread rolling processes rather than cutting methods.
Thread rolling improves thread strength and durability by forming the thread shape through material displacement rather than removal.

Under moderate direction from Lead Technicians and Maintenance Management, the Automated Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting equipment across Packaging and Manufacturing operations.
This role helps ensure equipment uptime, assists with projects, and completes all required documentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Support & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues using a logical, root-cause approach.
Repair or fabricate components when needed.
Perform intermediate-level programming on electronic devices including VFDs, PLCs, and various controllers.
Assist with equipment setup, operation, and improvements.
Project & Process Support
Identify operational inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory and assist with sourcing parts and obtaining quotes.
Support installation, modification, and enhancement of new or existing equipment.
Partner with Engineering on projects and initiatives.
Work with outside contractors and vendors as required.
Documentation & Safety
Create and update troubleshooting guides, rebuild instructions, calibrations, certifications, and PM documentation.
Participate in meetings and provide support as directed.

Qualifications
Education & Experience (one of the following):
