Optical Assistant - Role Overview
Join a luxury, modern independent practice
Work across 2-3 boutique branches located in scenic villages surrounding Hull
Provide a personal styling and shopping experience for every customer
Use the latest optical equipment and premium lens technology
Focus on quality over quantity, working with exclusive brands not found elsewhere in the area
Involved in a variety of duties including:
Front-of-house and reception
Dispensing, fittings, measurements, and adjustments
Excellent earning potential through a generous bonus scheme
Working hours: Monday to Saturday, 9am-5pm (4pm on Saturdays)
Optical Assistant - Requirements
Previous experience in an Opticians or optical retail environment
Strong interest in fashion, eyewear, and styling
Confident handling high-value dispensing and customer consultations
Calm, professional, and confident in communication
Enthusiastic about learning and career development

This is a small group of independent Opticians which is very well established and has an excellent reputation in the area.
Optical Assistant - Role
Family run independent Opticians which has been established for around 50 years
Single testing room practices
Specialises in high end eyewear and customer service
Focus on quality rather than quantity
Travels to international trade shows to handpick exclusive eyewear - Anne & Valentin, Theo, Face a Face
Main lens supplier is Rodenstock but you have the freedom to work with most high quality suppliers
Advanced dispensing equipment - DNEye scanner
Working between two practices which are close by, mainly Carmarthen
Working 4.5 days a week - 9am to 5.30pm midweek and 9am to 12.30pm on a Sat)
One full weekend off a month
Hourly rate of £11.50/hr
Funding and support towards the Dispensing Optician course
Free or very cheap parking available close by

1+ Years experience of working as an Optical Assistant
Interest is training to become a Dispensing Optician

My client, an established firm of PQS now seeks an ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR to join them in central London.
You will work on a range of infrastructure projects starting off by working on various power / utilities projects.
They are keen to find an ambitious QS who has been working for a firm of PQS and who is either working towards becoming MRICS qualified or keen to work towards chartereship.
My client offers good ongoing training.
THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of PQS with a good range of clients mainly in the private sector and public sectors.
They are a firm of construction consultants offering clients both cost management and project management services.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.
You need to have experience of working on infrastructure projects, in particular power / utilities.
My client would prefer if you have some experience of using NEC contracts.
You will need to have a 1 to 3 years or more experience doing both pre and post contract duties.
You should be either working towards chartered status or keen to do so.
You should be able to work as part of a friendly team.
You should have a stable work record.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken along with good IT skills and have good client facing skills.
Salary is in the region of £44000 to £46000 plus pension contribution plus RICS fees, ongoing trainng and other benefits.
