As our Filling Line Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, adjusting, and performing quality control (QC) checks while tending to machines & hand-fills to package paint in a safe, consistent and efficient manner according to specifications.
In addition, the Filling Line Operator is responsible for reading and following the bill of materials, preparing components, following order specifications to determine material and equipment requirements, and assisting with the QC process. Solving challenges is the very foundation of who we are.

Maintain quality standards by completing in-process inspection of cans, boxes and other containers. Certify that product weights are measured and recorded correctly; checking to make sure package labels and SKUs are correct. Housekeeping - maintain work area to 5S procedures, trash removal, clean work area and assist in monthly inventory of raw and stock materials as needed. May assist in directing of work activities of temporary employees as required. Work with filling line operators to efficiently change over line equipment for different label, container, and packaging sizes. Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) on the filling lines by Pareto analysis of OEE data and implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce downtime. Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition.
Schedule needed repairs to have minimum interference with operations.
Troubleshoot/repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner. Comply with company safety rules and procedures.
Complete daily and shift clean up tasks. Communicate results/ concerns/ issues with supervisor and co-workers.
Ensure shift to shift hand-off is complete. Support and complete small capital projects. Required Experience:
3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in chemical/paint manufacturing High School Diploma or equivalent Must have expertise in packaging equipment, plumbing, and pipefitting, with skills in electrical work and instrument calibration considered a definite plus Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex packaging and material-handling equipment is required Ability to do basic math. Strong understanding of safety and promotes buy-in of safety program items to self and others.
Takes ownership of the metal department equipment and tooling including roll forming equipment, hydraulic presses, automated infeed lines and metal saws.
Establish preventive maintenance program based on machine manufacturer's guidance and observations of in-house operation.
Creates and maintains tasks and repair records. Manage LOTO program machine specifics for both metal and foam plant.
Manage 52-week preventative maintenance plan for entire plant.
Perform weekly, monthly, and annual PMs on all equipment plant wide, including any building maintenance.
Responsible for machine and tooling setup, changeover, and adjustments.
Manage on-hand and projected spare parts and supply inventories.
Responsible for material management, including traceability and tracking of all coils including but not limited to mill certifications, gauges, tags, active, non-active and depleted.
Completes initial and final material QC checks; Creates and maintains appropriate documentation.
Training team members on proper utilization of equipment and tools, including safety.
Create SOPs for all production equipment to ensure consistency for machine operators in both foam and metal plant.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Metallurgy, Manual Machining and Fabrication or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.

Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.
