Patent Analyst - Science and Technology IP.
Newton Colmore s working with dynamic research organisation in Cambridgeshire, and we are searching for a patent analyst to join their IP team.
You will be supporting teams in the UK and the US by developing, and analysing comprehensive patent landscapes, monitoring and analysing competitor patent portfolios, and combining the outputs with other business analysis and intelligence.
Working alongside senior members of the IP team, your main responsibilities will involve;
Developing patent search strategies and analyse results, either carrying out the searches or in collaboration with third party search companies and to clearly communicate the outputs in a manner appropriate to the audience to internal management, IP and technology scouting colleagues.
To arrange IP alerts, and analyse competitor IP developments, and communicate findings with internal stakeholders.
To support the team of Patent Engineers in the delivery of the IP Team objectives.
Maintain IP department software licenses and serve as the primary liaison between the IP team and external search providers.
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have a good understanding of chemistry, or biochemistry and its applications within science and technology.
Ideally the company are looking for a recent PhD graduate, but we are open to MSc/BSc level scientists who have prior IP experience.
You will be performing detailed searches within a multidisciplinary team, so it is also important to have a great eye for detail and strong communication skills.

Serfton Council are seeking an organised and professional Business Support Minute Taker to provide essential administrative support to their Cared for Teams and Young Persons Team.
This role involves minuting Strategy Meetings and other professional meetings, managing reports, and offering general administrative assistance to ensure smooth operations within Children's Services.
36 hours per week
£14.40 LTD per hour inclusive of holiday pay
3 month initial contract with possibility of extension after this
Responsibilities:
Take minutes at Strategy Meetings and other professional meetings as required.
Type formal reports, letters, memos, and other relevant correspondence.
Organise and maintain records, reports, and files for the Cared for Teams and Young Persons Team.
Undertake reception duties and manage incoming and outgoing mail.
Liaise with other agencies and ensure compliance with administrative procedures.
Provide administrative support, including phone handling, filing, and data management.
Participate in supervision sessions, staff meetings, and ongoing training for professional development.
Ensure client information is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and confidentiality regulations.
Requirements:
