THE COMPANY:
We're exclusively partnering with a fast-growing SME tech business that develops innovative solutions using emerging AI technologies for forward-thinking organisations.
As part of their continued growth, the company is looking for an ambitious Senior Accounts Assistant ideally someone currently working at Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant level who's ready to take a bold step into a hands-on, standalone role.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day finance function, with approximately 75% of your time focused on transactional activities (AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and credit control).
The remaining 25% will involve working closely with the CEO to deliver management accounts, reporting, and financial insight.
This role calls for a tech-savvy, curious individual who's eager to explore automation and AI to streamline and enhance transactional finance processes.
THE SENIOR ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT ROLE:
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with other Directors, you'll operate as the sole finance professional managing the full end-to-end finance function.
Responsibilities include:
Raising sales invoices, resolving queries, and managing Direct Debit collections
Processing purchase invoices, securing approval, and making timely payments
Performing daily bank reconciliations
Uploading and organising all finance documentation
Chasing pre-due and overdue invoices
Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
Overseeing payroll in coordination with external providers
Managing pension contributions and monthly uploads
Executing daily/weekly/monthly payment runs
Handling staff expense claims from approval to payment
Supporting the wider team with financial reporting and commercial queries
Assisting with accounting journals and month-end processes, including management accounts pack
Reviewing processes and utilising Ai and Automation to create efficiency
Collaborating with the CEO on financial analysis related to acquisitions
THE PERSON:
Experience in a small business environment where the individual has been hands on in a role such as; Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant.
Must be currently still hands-on with transactional finance tasks
Strong skills in cashflow management, VAT, and monthly reporting
Must have Xero experience
Curious and tech-savvy mindset with an interest in AI and automation
A degree or professional finance qualification would be advantageous

Partner with business process owners to align regional practices with global standards and best practices. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Leverage the maximize the utilization and effectiveness of the Global Service Centers (GSC) when appropriate.
Financial Close & Reporting
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process (R2R), ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP, and local requirements as applicable. Manage balance sheet integrity and provide analytical insight into variances and trends. Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful audit outcomes. Oversee, navigate, and communicate complex accounting policies and procedures to the accounting and finance department as well as other business stakeholders.
Transaction Cycle Oversight
Drive accountability and control across the Procure-to-Pay process, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and payments. Oversee Order-to-Cash activities, including billing, collections, and revenue recognition in coordination with commercial teams. Partner with operations, procurement, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure finance processes support and enable business performance.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks (SOX), identifying and mitigating financial risks. Document and continuously improve finance-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with the industry's best practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a regional finance team, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Promote cross-functional alignment between finance, manufacturing operations, and shared service centers to ensure seamless financial process execution.
Experience |Education | Certifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Minimum of 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in a global manufacturing environment. Deep knowledge of financial transaction cycles (P2P, O2C, R2R) and experience leading process standardization and transformation efforts. Experience developing KPIs and dashboards to monitor the health of financial processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) and drive continuous improvement. Strong understanding of US GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory valuation in a manufacturing context. The Microsoft M365 Solutions Developer leverages their expertise in the Microsoft 365 platform to design and develop applications and automations that enhance business processes following Agile methodologies.
They collaborate directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and implement effective, secure solutions using SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

While the M365 Solutions Developer is expected to work independently, they may also contribute as part of a project team when needed.
Responsibilities
Provide programming expertise in the design, development, and implementation of initiatives to support business processes utilizing various M365 tools and platforms such as SharePoint Online, Power Platform, SQL Server, Office 365 and others, with a focus on secure, intuitively designed solutions Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and end users to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support of applications and systems. Support of continuous improvement and optimization of the existing MS 365 application environment and providing enhancements to solutions to meet evolving business objectives. Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field. Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (SharePoint/Power Platform, etc) certification preferred.
2+ years' experience in Microsoft 365 with Power Platform and SharePoint Online development. Strong expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online.
