GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Our Facades Engineer will provide engineering support for R&D initiatives, including cross-functional teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute various project activities supporting Process Engineering Support R&D projects that deliver business results through data-driven decision making Work within the R&D team to support new product and process development projects Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities Execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of various technologies Execute pilot equipment trials while capturing and recording data Support the process development and validation, specification implementation, and work instruction creation of new product designs and processes Assist with the exploration and research of new technologies in relevant processes for future applications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities:
Work independently to initiate innovative and functional product designs and manage the design projects related to new product development across all Rust-Oleum product categories. Design, prototype, and test product design to ensure quality, functionality, durability, manufacturability and correlate chemical and physical material to consumer application and use, cost, safety and environmental impact. Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure that the designs meet/exceed market/product needs, cost targets, and production requirements. Identify and select materials and components to meet design objectives. Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline. 5 or more years of hands-on experience in new product development and tooling design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems with proven track record of successful new product design and development, preferably in durable consumer markets. Experienced in plastic injection molding and plastic parts design. Proven leadership in managing new product development, start to finish. Extensive knowledge of product design, materials selection and manufacturing processes and direct experience working with a broad array of materials, preferably for consumer goods products. Excellent working knowledge of Computer Aided Design modelling concepts and software proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D part modeling, drawing, and assembly creation of the mechanical components. A passion for design, engineering, problem solving, with critical thinking and creativity. Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team from project concept through commercialization. Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills including good special acuity for design. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Estimator supports the Panelization/Facades and Willseal business segments by providing detailed material takeoffs, project estimates, and technical details for client inquiries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement processes for estimating, on-screen material takeoff, and scope reviews to provide added value to the extended sales team and client base.
Follow standard operating procedures for project estimating and manufacturing process development.
Prepare all aspects of an estimate including interpreting specifications and architectural drawings, understanding addendums, RFIs, and all other related documents that pertain to the project for bidding purposes.
Interpret the construction schedule for materials to be installed.
Compute overall costs associated with the project (material and panel fabrication) Create and maintain a database for all projects to include all job cost estimate breakdown documentation provided to the project coordination team.
Assist in the development of written text/illustrations for catalog and installation or design support literature for new product launches.
Convert AutoCAD documents to PDF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, WMF, and other file formats.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Associates or Bachelors degree in commercial construction or similar preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Minimum of two year's experience in commercial construction, exterior wall cladding, technical service or similar Ability to read and navigate construction documents and building plans is highly preferred Ability to work on site five days a week
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Project Management comprehension Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Experience with Word, Excel, On-Screen Takeoff, or Bluebeam Effective team player Self-motivated Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 10 lbs.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $64,500 and $80,625.
