In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the estate and communal areas to a high quality cleaning standard and maintaining a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and members of the public.
Summary of Tasks & Responsibilities:
Attend to cleaning tasks in compliance with schedules and frequencies defined for each estate
Report Emergencies, communal repairs and any incidents of vandalism
Keep Internal and External areas free of graffiti
Manage bin areas including disinfect, rotate position for collection, deep clean etc.
Act as a point of contact for residents and ensure good communication is kept with all teams and departments.
Identify hazards and complete risk assessments on a daily basis and take remedial action as necessary.
Grit estate access paths and roads when snow/ice expected.
To comply with any COSHH regulations which apply to cleaning materials that are used.
The ideal candidate for the role;
Previous experience of cleaning and caretaking or similar
Good customer service skills and can remain courteous and polite at all times
Identify repairs within the blocks and report them
Hold a Full UK Driving License
Applicants will need to have an understanding of Health and Safety, be customer focused, with strong communication skills.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of COSHH Regulations.

Service Care Solutions are working in collaboration with a Housing Association with a vacancy for a Caretaker based in Dorking, Surrey.
In the role of Caretaker, you will be responsible for inspecting and cleaning communal areas including sweeping and mopping, external litter picking, leaf clearance, cleaning bin areas and rotating bins.
You'll carry out health and safety checks and report bulk rubbish, graffiti and abandoned vehicles to the appropriate teams.
Working to high standards you'll also rotate bins to ensure refuse chutes are clear and bulk is prepared for uplift.
You'll have responsibility for ensuring that our blocks are kept clean and left hazard free at each visit and high standards are maintained.
With an understanding and awareness of Health and Safety issues, you'll ensure that your work and time is recorded using the systems in place and that all repairs or H&S issues are photographed with details referred to the appropriate teams.
Acting as a point of contact you'll ensure there is good communication with all teams and departments and promote a positive image, reporting any tenancy issues identified or suspected to the Housing Officer.
You'll also be required to carry out maintenance of internal areas of blocks, including the cleaning of internal ledges, sills, handrails, balustrades, doors, walks and remove cobwebs from light fittings and all surroundings.

You will :-
Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards to Head Office via electronic fault reporting application.
Ensure the maintenance of the Care Centre's exterior, including:
Keep any sheds, outbuildings and areas in which waste is stored in a clean and tidy condition.
Keep front of House tidy and presentable at all times
Where accessible keep all gutters and gulleys clear of all debris
Fire exit stairs to be clear from debris and regularly checked
Clear snow and grit the drive, paths and any areas to which Clients, Visitors or Staff Members have access.
Where applicable, cut the grass around the building and tend to any flowerbeds, hanging baskets etc.
Clean all signs/lighting outside the Care Centre.
External lighting working o CCTV cleaned regularly
Carry out any patching up or touching up of decoration as and when required in order to maintain standard of Care Centre.
Test the fire alarm system, and log results, weekly.
Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
Undertake regular audits using the company's current audit tool at agreed frequencies and create action plans as appropriate.
Ensure all ventilation units and lights are kept clean.
Replace any defective light bulbs/diffusers.
Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
Test, and record, water temperatures as specified in Company procedures.
Maintain and update the electronic fault logging system in which defects are recorded by staff.
Ensure the progress of each job is recorded in a timely manner.
Assist/supervise with deliveries to the Care Centre.
Monitor delivered goods closely.
Maintenance of equipment used and provided to carry out works at the Home
Liaise with contractors and be the point of contact on site for both reactive and planned works
Liaise with General Manager, or delegated Staff Member, regarding maintenance work to be carried out.
Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
Be on-call for emergency call outs.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Caretaking or Site Manager experience.
Work alone and as part of a team.
Work to deadlines.
To be able to be the main key holder on occasions and attend to rapid response “call outs” outside normal working hours
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
Health and Safety procedures including COSHH
Manual Handling
Willingness to develop ICT knowledge.
