Purpose
To support social workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people in the City through the delivery of high quality service.
Responsibilities
To be responsible for an ‘allocated worker' casework role, as assigned by Team Manager/Social Worker:
To collect, accurately record, using management information systems, and critically analyse all relevant information and take appropriate actions to fulfil statutory responsibilities to promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of the child/young people.
To ensure the well-being and safety of the child/young person is paramount through analysing all necessary information to complete assessments that comply with statutory requirements.
As directed, provides practical day to day support to children and their families.
Liaise and work with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people; and ensure that services are ‘joined up' in approach.
To accurately record, report and communicate using accurate, up-to-date evidence based information in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
To communicate effectively to a variety of audiences through written, verbal and other means of communication.
To take personal responsibility for your own professional development and reflective practice and keep up-to-date with changes to legislation, court rules, policies, procedures and best practice development.
To work as a team member and attend team meetings and service reviews to positively contribute to the outcomes for children achieved as a team.
Actively support the Team Manager by undertaking any other duties commensurate with the job or needs of the service.
Required
Experience of working with children and/or their families in a care setting.
Must have valid Driving License.
Liaising with agencies to get help for children and/or their families.
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of social work practice.
Basic understanding of the legislative framework applying to working with children and families in a statutory setting
Ability to work professionally with people experiencing challenging personal circumstances
You will also have strong administration and IT skills, as your time will be split between office-based tasks and work in the community, visiting families.
Key effective communication and positive relationship skills are essential, as well as clear, concise record keeping, in a timely, accurate manner, applying your time management and organisational skills.
The ability to work effectively with colleagues and other agencies; solve problems, negotiate and make decisions are also a necessity to be able to support the social work team.

To implement and co-ordinate individual support plans and/or reablement programmes in conjunction with the client, informal carers, health and social care colleagues, providing support, advice and monitoring as appropriate.
To refer service users and/or informal carers where required to other health and social care professionals.
To develop and maintain extensive knowledge of services and resources available within the local community, identifying and utilizing existing information.
To provide information and support about welfare benefits, to support clients to benefit appointments and refer to other financial support services.
To promote self-directed support and ensure that service users and informal carers are aware of how a personal budget can be used to meet their assessed needs.
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in collaboration with Health colleagues and external partners.
To maintain accurate and relevant records, including needs assessments, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions and support plans, inputting relevant information onto computer systems in accordance with Care Policy and procedures.
To contribute to case conferences and service user reviews when required.
To identify and alert safeguarding concerns to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.
Whilst ensuring the person is made safe.
To discuss any matters outside remit of role with supervisor/manager and seek advice, support and training where appropriate.
To contribute to working practices and processes that maximise the use of new technology to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
Carrying out lone working which can sometimes involve visiting clients in unpleasant conditions
Requirements
Significant relevant recent experience of working with people with social care needs (e.g.
learning disability, physical disability, mental health, older persons and end of life/palliative care).
Experience of working in a multi-agency environment to deliver services to people with social care needs.
An understanding of the needs of older people and/or people with disabilities.
Experience of teaching practical skills to individuals with these needs.
Experience of working with people with social care needs in a community setting, respecting the privacy of people's homes.
Experience of dealing with people with social care needs where safeguarding interventions have been needed.
Ability to recognise signs and symptoms of abuse and evidence of responding effectively.
Understanding of the aims and principles of self-directed support and experience of advising people with social care needs and/or their informal carers in respect of self-directed support.
Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Equal Opportunities legislation and experience of applying this knowledge in the workplace.
Evidence of working effectively with people with social care needs and/or their informal carers where there are communication barriers.
Detailed knowledge of the welfare and benefits system and evidence of signposting individuals to these services.
Awareness of data protection and confidentiality together with experience of applying these principles operationally.
Ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day in accordance with the needs of the job.

IT Project Manager
Rust-Oleum is looking for an experienced Project Manager responsible for the implementation of various information technology projects that align with business and IT strategies.
This position requires a vast breadth of technology and business expertise to deliver complex projects.

Sound foundational knowledge of IT systems, architecture, and the latest IT industry trends to objectively align with the project's technical requirements and audit the feasibility of desired outcomes. Broad knowledge of business processes, specifically in consumer goods and process manufacturing industries, with an ability to communicate effectively with IT business analysts and business process owners. Experience in leading SAP implementations. Knowledge of various agile methodologies and agile project management is a plus.
