GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
During each term as a Process Engineering Co-Op they will have the opportunity to learn, experience and contribute to the operations of the polyurethane sealants and coatings manufacturing process.
The co-op will develop an understanding of the relationship between the manufacturing process and the various teams that support the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will work in conjunction with the process and quality engineering group to support safety, quality, maintenance and production processes.
Learn and use process tools such as Process Safety Management, Behavioral Risk Improvement and Lean Six-Sigma tools including 5S, A3 Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control and Value Stream Mapping.
Interaction with the plant will be part of the daily routine.
Some responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Lead small projects for improvement of a process or equipment. Collect data for process waste reduction.
Edit or create P&IDs.
Work alongside Process Engineers on Capital Expense Projects.
Conduct meetings to communicate information or collaborate on projects.
Serve as a back-up for the Quality Lab Safety.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing, pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering at an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior experience or training required.
Experience with manufacturing is encouraged but not required.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding process variance and the resultant effects on Quality.
Knowledge of applied statistics.
Ability to perform problem analysis utilizing problem solving methodology.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Role of the E&I Proof Test Coordinator
The role of E&I Proof Test Coordinator is to create and update Proof Test Procedures to ensure compliance with HSE and compliance requirements.
Reporting directly to the Instrumentation Engineer and being an integral part of the Maintenance department, the E&I Proof Test Coordinator will also play a key role within Asset Coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding Process P&ID's and C&E Diagrams.
Department representative in HAZOPs.
Liaisie with process Engineers to expedite changeovers and project works.
Auditing completed proof tests for anomalies and compliance.
Involvement with I&E Audits both internally and externally.
Assisting with ongoing Asset Management
Working with the planning department with PM Creation for changeovers.
Essential Criteria Needed of the E&I Proof Test Coordinator
Relevant Trade Qualification (NVQ or HNC Level).
Strong Instrumentation background.
Previous experience of working in a Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Petrochemical industry.
Vast experience of working within an Engineering Maintenance team.
Ability to read Process P&ID and C&E Diagrams.
Previous involvement in HAZOPs.
Familiar with the use of computers for allocating, receiving, and signing off maintenance work.

Development of project schedules using the MS Project Manager software to provide structure and to identify critical milestones.
Ability to draft robust project scopes and accurate cost estimates.
Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary activities as needed for project design.
Meet with cross-functional project teams monthly to update project schedules and to identify barriers to attainment of target project and or product commercialization dates.
Evaluate new processing technologies that will give the division a technical advantage and improve product performance.
Support as needed in the development of a LEAN operating culture across the division's operating facilities.
Be involved in the design and development of equipment and work procedures.
Make environmental, health,, and safety recommendations accordingly.
Assist in preparing, maintaining, and updating process hazard analysis.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
Serve as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
Develop preliminary site layouts including structures, equipment locations, PID, and single line diagrams.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Engineering, preferably in Chemical engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years related experience and/or training in Project Engineering in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of SAP and demonstrated basic knowledge of Process Control Systems.
