What to expect:
Job Duties: Summary: Co-op/Intern students are treated as coatings chemists in training, with a focus on professional growth and skills development in a teamwork-based environment.
Students work on and learn about a variety of product types from metal to concrete coatings and decorative to high performance systems.
Interaction with chemical suppliers, marketing brand managers, and manufacturing operations is incorporated with increasingly complex projects throughout the co-op career.

Satellite Hazardous Waste Accumulation
Production tank/Cleaning/filling
1.
Production Quality Lab Technicians may have to dispose of product samples, line flush, off-spec product, or expired product retain samples.
This waste material is transferred to the hazardous waste satellite accumulation drum.
2.
Production workers clean equipment and tanks pre-rinse, wipe, scrub, and final rinse surfaces using wash solvent, brushes and rags.
Dirty solvent is transferred to the satellite accumulation area.
3.
Transfer used wash solvent to the satellite accumulation drum or tank.
4.
Ensure hazardous waste storage or accumulation containers remain sealed except during the addition or removal of waste.
5.
Ensure Hazardous Waste storage containers are clearly labeled "Hazardous Waste."
6.
Care must be exercised when introducing waste into the satellite accumulation drum.
Do not drop on floor or area.
In the case of any spilled material, spills or drops shall be cleaned up immediately.
7.
When 55 gallons has accumulated, the satellite accumulation container must be moved to a permanent hazardous waste storage area within 3 days and relabeled "Hazardous Waste."

What You'll Be Doing
Delivering expert technical support to internal sales and marketing teams as well as external customers.
Advising on correct lubricant, oil and additive selection across a broad range of automotive applications.
Investigating technical product issues, diagnosing root causes and recommending effective solutions.
Supporting product positioning through technical presentations, training and customer engagement.
Acting as a trusted technical resource across OEM, distributor and end-user channels.
Maintaining technical documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant industry specifications and classifications.
Collaborating with colleagues across commercial and technical functions to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a technically accomplished individual with a strong background in lubricants, oils, additive chemistry or related automotive technologies.
You will possess a detailed understanding of lubricant formulations, specifications and performance characteristics, alongside the communication skills and professional gravitas to engage confidently with stakeholders at every level.
Essential Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of oils, lubricants and additive chemistry.
Knowledge of lubricant classifications, specifications and performance standards.
Understanding of additive functionality, interactions, limitations, synergies and incompatibilities.
Experience interpreting technical documentation, specifications and performance data.
Understanding of the additive supply chain and industry landscape.
Technical application knowledge across sectors such as:

Good working knowledge of additive technologies including:
