JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary function of a Tremco Project & Compatibility Lab Technician is to manage internal testing procedures that are used to establish a compatibility matrix for all Tremco products that are subject to contact in typical construction applications.
The P&C Lab Technician will perform Project Testing and support testing functions for Decks, Below Grade Waterproofing, Sealants and Air Barriers.
These test functions include Product Comparison, Product Compatibly, ASTM Testing (potential addendums to existing standard method requirements).
The P&C Lab Technician will be required to communicate results in an organized manner and manage the flow of data through the proper channels to the proper recipients in a timely fashion
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Laboratory: 75% of time will be spent in the laboratory in constructing test samples, documenting performance and maintaining a clean working environment.
Must be familiar with a laboratory setting and safety and be able to: Test to ASTM C 1248, ASTM C 1247, ASTM C 1193, ASTM C 1135, ASTM C 1087, ASTM 794, ASTM C 793, ASTM C 719, ASTM C 679, ASTM C 679, ASTM C 661, ASTM C 639 and ASTM C 510 standard test methods. Prepare test substrates for testing using cutting equipment including band saw, table saw and wet saw. Document observations and results of standard testing in detailed test reports. Maintain organization of test articles during sample preparation, conditioning, testing and storage. Maintain cleanliness of laboratory environment and enforce laboratory hygiene plan.
Use of material testing equipment including microscope and Instron 5565. Other duties as assigned. Customer Support (External and Internal): Provide timely response on requests from internal and external customers as it relates to compatibility testing and posting of results in the database.
Develop a test schedule to provide accurate turnaround time estimates. Maintain quick and accurate written and verbal responses to technical and non-technical questions. Work with minimal dependence. Display excellent problem solving & communication skills. Provide general Technical Service phone support. Travel on a limited basis to job sites and for product application support training. Possess a team player attitude. Be self-motivated and dedicated to quality work. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Minimum HS Diploma or GED with 5 years' experience in a laboratory environment OR Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, General Science or similar with 3-6 months of work or coursework in a laboratory environment.

Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and make adjustments as necessary.
Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using machinery.

This HSE Manager position is with a globally leading chemical manufacturing company specialising in the manufacture of bespoke resins.
The main purpose of the HSE Manager is to ensure the effectiveness of the EHS Department, compliance with government and legal regulations and promoting a positive climate in which EHS is seen by all employees and customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: Monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications. Develop an understanding with supervision of the fundamentals of coatings technology. Compile results of tests and analyses. Set up and conduct experiments, tests, and analyses using standard paint test procedures and physical and chemical techniques. Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials, and document all experimental results. Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams, and by conducting laboratory and plant safety audits. Prepare paint batches for products and following standardized formulas or create experimental formulas. Preform lab support activities which may include routine maintenance or upkeep of equipment and lab areas such as salt fogs, QUV'S, milling room, hot room, or controlled temp.

QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE
Chemistry - Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.
This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. High school graduate or equivalent (GED) with a focus in the sciences, with chemistry and related sciences preferred.

If you have expertise in waterborne chemistry and formulations knowledge in both architectural and industrial products, this is the opportunity you've been looking for.

Technology Knowledge:
Expertise in broad ranges of coating chemistries particularly acrylic, epoxy, urethane, polyaspartics and sil(ox)anes etc.
Expertise in application and formulation science for various coating systems of primer, basecoat, topcoat systems for liquid waterborne, solventborne and 2K coatings along with expert understanding of DIY, Contractor, and OEM Coatings.
Strong command on analytical methods and structure-property relationship
Expert understanding of manufacturing process and product development
