DAP is looking to hire R&D Intern for Summer 2025.
Responsibilities:
The summer intern would work under mentorship of a senior scientist / Supervisor to perform collaborative research for development adhesives or repair products with unique and differentiated properties.
The intern will work on Water-based exterior high-performance sealant development and/or new packaging options for kitchen & bath as well as related performance evaluations. Will involve making batches in mixing equipment and testing properties such as texture, density, viscosity and pH. Test specimen substrates also will be constructed according to ASTM specifications for performance testing of compounded sealants. Summarize results collected during the summer and present data/ analysis to R&D group. Actual project(s) at time of hire tbd.
Requirements
Major: Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Sophomore, Junior, or Senior. General lab skills (weighing materials on benchtop scale, transferring liquids/solids from one container to another, adherence to lab safety rules). Formulating, mixing, ability to research test methods and raw materials.
general understanding of sealants and adhesives. Likes to work with hands-on testing in a laboratory setting. Attention to details, inquisitive, good notes taker, desire to learn and grow.

Technology Competency:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a part of Carboline Global Continuous Improvement Team supporting the development and execution of continuous improvement projects at the Lake Charles, LA manufacturing facility.

Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. Requirements:
