JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines and mixing rooms. Ensure food safety and food defense in the plant. Directs and coordinates all daily sanitation activities within the processing plant and the grounds surrounding it. Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
Ensures that staff are informed of corporate safety requirements and that safety is a priority in day to day functions. Develops and implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality and food safety performance, determine and implement corrective actions. Lead, motivate and develop sanitation personnel to achieve outstanding manufacturing and sanitation results.
Effectively conduct team meetings.
Provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees. Train sanitation personnel in best practices, safety, to understand SDS information, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Responsible for daily scheduling and efficient resource allocation.
Responsible for filling out daily sanitation logs, performance reports and shift paperwork. As part of the plant leadership team, provides excellent communication and partnership with the quality control and production departments. Coach, counsel, train and develop associate's skills Regularly train associates in methods of improving sanitation processes Makes certain that all areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards Ensures that at the end of the shift all documentation pertinent to sanitation. Maintains effective communications between the Manager and shift supervisors.
Lead and motivate associates to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs. Other duties as assigned by manager.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years or more in a leadership capacity, experience in production, preferably in the food industry or manufacturing is preferred.
(A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.) Willing and able to work overtime as needed Hardworking, dependable Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically. Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work. Read and understand chemical labels. Read and understand HACCP along with SQF and OSHA requirements. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Ideally someone clinical from a theatre background looking to make the move into more of a commercial role
Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or
Ideally looking for a science-based grad (Bio- Science has worked well for them recently) a PhD

Permanent, full-time role, Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 6pmKey Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor / Production Team Leader
Lead, mentor, and develop production staff to achieve team and business objectives.
Manage return-to-work procedures and provide support for staff welfare.
Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions to improve health & safety.
Handle disciplinary processes in line with company procedures.
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across production processes e.g 5s, lean manufacturing
Monitor performance, analyse production data, and implement improvements.
Take a hands-on approach at times with the production teams, circa 70% hands-on, 30% office-based
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
