Key Duties & Responsibilities
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
Overseeing and assisting with of the installation, maintenance, and repair work of machines, parts and facilities for the Kirker Paterson buildings
Preparing maintenance schedules and allocating work as per forecasted work orders
Maintaining all inventory of parts and equipment and ensuring proper storage
Inventories and requisitions machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to replenish and maintain stock
Recording and maintaining production, repair, and machine maintenance information
Assisting with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects
Set up and operate machines and adjust controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications.
Lubricate machinery, repair or change parts, and perform other routine machinery maintenance (i.e.
mixers, pumps, valves, homogenizes, filter housings, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
Starts machine and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect defects, malfunctions, or other machine damage.
Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
Dismantles machine, removes machine parts, and reassembles machine, using hand tools, chain falls, jack, crane, or hoist.
Removes hardened material from machine or machine parts, using abrasives, power and hand tools, jackhammer, sledgehammer, or other equipment.
Transports machine parts, tools, equipment and other material between work areas and storage, using crane, hoist, or dolly.
Weld and/or repair tanks, vessels, tank stands, and tank frames.
Marks, separates, ties, aligns, threads, attaches, or insert material or product preparatory to machine operation or to identify machine process.
Communicate with or assists other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
Cuts, shapes, smooths, attaches or assembles pieces of metal, wood, rubber, or other material repair and maintenance machines and equipment.
Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and determines appropriate actions to affect repairs.
Performs Facility related repairs and work when needed.
Training of the maintenance crew
Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience: 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
Ability to use various hand, bench, and power tools
Ability to perform general metal working carpentry, plumbing and electrical related repair
Welding is a plus
Forklift Certified and forklift repair experience is a plus
Boiler license required
Salary Target Range: $35.00 p/h - $40.00 p/h.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience in a lead role or similar position directing others

Must wear required PPE at all times throughout the shift (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, gloves)

Legend Brands is hiring a Mold Maintenance Technician I/II on our swing shift, Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with a potential for overtime based on business needs.
There is a $2.00/hr.
shift differential for all hours worked on the swing shift.
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing molds and tooling used in the production of injection molded and rotomolded plastic parts and ensuring that the molds are properly maintained to ensure they produce high quality parts.
The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting any problems that arise with the molds and will work with other members of the production team to ensure that the molds are repaired as quickly as possible.

Job Requirements:
Good understanding and working knowledge of conventional machines and machining operations
Mechanical aptitude
Tool selection and proper use of tools
Ability to follow written instructions, read manuals, interpret engineering drawings
Exceptional attention to detail, methodical, and maintains clean and well-organized workspace
Excellent trouble shooting skills
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mold tech and/or 3 years' experience processing engineering resins preferred or the ability and skills to learn
Molding and/or stamping knowledge preferred
3D CAD Modeling experience preferred
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to use computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
on a regular basis
Ability to obtain forklift certification within 30 days
High School diploma or equivalent required
Familiarity with machinist tools required
Hiring Range:
Between $20.00 - $25.25/hour + 2.00/hr.

Coach & mentor operations' team, including staff, supervisors, and crew leads on continuous improvement methods & processes to establish a culture where tools and methods are utilized in a standard way to deliver improvements.
Develop lean leadership within local operations' team to enable them to lead and execute their own lean activities within the plant according to the business strategy.
Transition ownership of completed projects to the local operations' team, and support sustaining activities to ensure results are maintained.
Maintain positive work relationships with members of other teams to communicate effectively, and to ensure compliance with cross-team responsibilities.

Ability to understand plant financial measures and how they are generated.
Ability to interpret control charts.
Ability to motivate others to take action dictated by data.

Strong communication skill with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization

Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
