Job title: Senior Software Engineer - GCS
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Responsible to: Principal Engineer - GCS
Liaison with: All staff, sub-contractors, customers, and suppliers
About the role: To work on the development of user-facing Ground Control Station (GCS) software designed to enable operators to remotely control and monitor autonomous vehicles beyond visual line-of-sight.
This role focuses on developing robust, intuitive interfaces using C++, Qt, QML, and JavaScript, while also incorporating modern UX principles and thorough testing methodologies.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising user interfaces that must enable operators to navigate complex tactical situations without overwhelming them.
You will be expected to run UI experiments with our in-house team of operations experts and with key customers to determine critical software requirements.
You should be comfortable handling complex workloads across R&D, prototyping, and mission-critical production deployments.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of target manufacturing activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines and provide leadership for the shift supervisors and associates within the value stream.
The Production Manager will drive the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified workforce, reduce operating costs and inventories through incremental and quantum continuous improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads and guides Lean initiatives within the designated work cell.
Works closely with plant-level management on Lean process projects using lean tools and metrics.
Helps develop a Lean Strategy to be implemented plant-wide.
Participates in FIT and continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement techniques.
Drives Lean Management - including Tier Meetings, Supervisor Standard Work, Accountability Boards, and overall process discipline.
Responsible for hiring and developing associates, budget planning, employment decisions and performance assessment of shop floor associates.
Operates as part of a Leadership Team responsible for running the factory to specific KPI's and improvement activities.
Promotes and ensures a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
Directly manages the departmental cell and works cooperatively with other functional managers/supervisors/leaders to optimize the entire value stream.
The Product Manager is relentless about implementing MS168 and continuous improvement.
Responsible for understanding the current culture by reviewing existing policies and procedures.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
HS Diploma with 8+ years' experience OR
Engineering Degree with 2 years' experience OR
Non-Engineering Degree with 4 years' experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
1 year of previous supervisor or management experience required.

Planning and supervising survey activities, including the setup, interfacing, testing, calibration and operation of survey sensors.

We are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients existing design team.
In this role you will be responsible for the design, engineering and specification of new products alongside the maintenance of our clients existing product range.
You will report to the Technical Engineering Manager and alongside the Design team you will be expected to generate production ready designs and help ensure the smooth running of the department.
You will ensure that new products are designed and developed within the agreed timescales and to the standards expected.
ROLE DUTIES
Work closely with the Technical Engineering Manager and the Design and Development department you will take products from conception to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
You will determine manufacturing methods for engineering designs accounting for both inhouse and external manufacture capabilities.
You will carry out DFMEA at the outset of each project, monitoring the completion of actions identified and working with the development team to identify product design failure modes.
You will ensure that tolerance analysis is carried out during the design process, allowing for ease of manufacture, product function and eliminating tolerance build up issues during product manufacture and assembly.

Ability to generate 2D production drawings according to GD&T best practise.
