Title: Concrete Protection Specialist
Summary:
Play a key role in driving the growth of Carboline's Concrete Protection platform by combining technical expertise with strategic business development.
This role serves as a trusted subject matter expert across concrete repair, rehabilitation, protective linings, secondary containment, and resinous flooring systems.
Partnering closely with sales teams, engineers, and customers, you will help evaluate opportunities, develop effective solutions, influence specifications, and support successful project execution across both direct and indirect channels.
Minimum Requirements:
10+ years of experience in concrete repair, protective coatings, resinous flooring, waterproofing, structural rehabilitation, or related construction markets
Strong working knowledge of concrete deterioration mechanisms, repair methodologies, and surface preparation practices
Familiarity with AMPP, ICRI, and ASTM standards, guidelines, and industry best practices for concrete rehabilitation
Hands-on experience with repair mortars, epoxies, polyurethanes, urethane cement, and protective lining technologies
Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, rehabilitation practices, and protective lining systems preferred
Valid Driver's License required
Physical Requirements:
Primarily low physical demand role with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day)
Occasional exposure to various chemicals
Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel as needed
Essential Functions:
Support and expand business development efforts within concrete repair, rehabilitation, containment, lining, and resinous flooring markets
Partner with Carboline sales teams and distribution channels to identify, develop, and win project opportunities
Build and strengthen relationships with engineers, consultants, contractors, and asset owners to drive specifications and market visibility
Provide expert technical guidance on concrete evaluation, surface preparation, repair methods, moisture mitigation, and system selection
Influence and support project specifications through presentations, design collaboration, and engineering engagement
Assist with contractor training, field support, and troubleshooting on key projects
Deliver engaging technical presentations and educational sessions to both internal and external audiences
Utilize CRM tools to track opportunities, monitor market activity, and support strategic account planning
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Technical Service, and Sales to identify and advance growth opportunities
Champion and uphold Carboline's safety and quality standards

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Construction Manager Junior Associate position will train in many departments within Roofing and WTI while engaged in a degree seeking program through RISE.
The following areas will be included in training as well as any others deemed appropriate: WTI Field - WTI Field Resources to learn installation of different types of roofing systems such as BUR, EPDM, Single-ply, coatings, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems, as well as safe operations of tools of the trade.
This position requires hands on; roof or construction site activity. General Contracting - learn and assist in project management duties including but not limited to managing all projects (including GC and larger-scale P&R, TremCares, etc), participating in all proposals, specifications, price estimates, schedules, and sales efforts as they affect the aforementioned projects.
Sales & Service Support - Report database management and QC related activities, warranty adjustment, leak tracking, customer service, project administration, product training activities, etc. The Construction Manager Junior Associate will be required to apply and take courses working towards a degree in Construction Management through the WTI partnership with The University of Akron, must maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA, and will work through the Junior Associate curriculum which includes training in the following: OLI QC, superintendent training, estimating, spec writing, CM admin support, PR/Inspection field services.

A strong level of experience spent working as a CNC Miller, ideally producing high precision components for strictly regulated industries (Aerospace, Medical, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Defence etc.)
5 Axis machining experience and specifically able to set machines independently - all machine brands & controls considered
The ability to Program online from scratch using Fanuc controls - offline is also highly advantageous, all CAD/CAM software packages considered
Working Hours of the CNC Miller 5 Axis: 40 Per week, spread across a highly sociable day shift pattern
Monday to Thursday - 06:00 to 15:00
Friday - 06:00 to 12:00

Role Overview:The successful candidate will provide senior engineering expertise across process design, optimisation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, working closely with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve plant issues.
The role will also involve leading capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required engineering and regulatory standards.A key part of the role will be supporting process safety within a COMAH environment, contributing to safety reports and leading or participating in HAZOP, LOPA and other process and functional safety assessments.Skills and Experience Required:
Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical Engineering or similar, with at least 5 years of experience in COMAH/high-hazard manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of COMAH Regulations 2015, ALARP and UK legislation.
Provide input into process design, optimisation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, producing key process deliverable including calculations, PFDs, P&IDs and control narratives.
Lead and deliver capital projects from concept to commissioning and handover, managing contractors and suppliers while balancing safety, quality, cost, schedule and operability.
Lead and participate in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, SIL and Bowtie studies, supporting lifecycle risk management and ALARP justification.
Experience with batch operations, reactors and distillation columns would be advantageous, alongside experience of Management of Change and inherently safer design.
Strong technical and process safety leadership, with sound risk-based decision making, effective stakeholder engagement and strong project governance skills.
