As a Maintenance Manager in our production food company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.
This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in our production processes.
Principal Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, including food processing machinery, packaging systems, and conveyors.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
2.
Facility Management:
- Manage the maintenance of facility infrastructure, including refrigeration systems, utilities, and building structures.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks as needed.
3.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operation.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
4.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and food safety standards in maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and training sessions for maintenance personnel.
5.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, and controlling costs to meet financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in maintenance operations.
6.
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
- Procure necessary parts and materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
7.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance logs.
- Generate reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and downtime analysis.
8.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, increase operational efficiency, and reduce maintenance costs.
- Implement preventive maintenance best practices, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies, and condition monitoring techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of food processing equipment and systems.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, food safety standards, and GMPs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SQF, FDA, USDA, and HACCP.
- Certification in maintenance management (e.g., CMRP) is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for developing, instituting, and overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health, Safety and Corporate Compliance.

Select and maintain safety equipment and safety supplies on site.

Upgrade monitoring, testing and instrumentation of waste and byproducts.
Schedule and maintain all documentation related to all waste pickups, including certifying and recertifying waste profiles;
Improve overall safety, housekeeping and reliability of plant work areas and compliance systems;
Member of the PSM team;
Implement and coordinate the documentation and schedule for preventative maintenance of equipment through the Faciliworks program.
Maintain, create and close work orders.
Keep Asset List up to date within Faciliworks database.
Train all maintenance personnel on these procedures and manage to ensure proper procedures are followed;
Ensure all permits (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry), as well as MOC's are done correctly, and properly filed and archived.
Become proficient in generating, reviewing and updating SDS's and Labels for our product line.
This will be a multi-member team as GHS is being implemented in 2015, however, in 2016 and future years' maintenance of this system will become part of your department;
Supervise, coach, motivate and develop staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental management, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline, or high school diploma if degree with 5 years or more of direct experience in Process Safety Management, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience as described;
Specialized technical/aptitude experience: minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated proficiency with manufacturing processes.
Previous work and/or substantial knowledge of, including commonly used concepts, practices and procedures, within the thermoset polymer industry is a strongly considered asset;

THE OPPORTUNITY A well-respected, not-for-profit organisation is looking to appoint a qualified Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support their finance team.

THE PERSON
Be a fully qualified accountant through ACCA, ACA or CIMA
Have at least three years' experience in a management accounting position
Have experience preparing management accounts within a complex or multi-site organisation
Be confident preparing budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
Have advanced Excel skills, including SUMIFS, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP and PivotTables
Be able to interpret financial information and explain the key points clearly
Have excellent attention to detail and a consistent approach to accuracy
Be organised and able to manage several priorities while meeting reporting deadlines
Communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues
Be able to work independently, resolve problems and improve existing processes
Build positive working relationships with budget holders and colleagues throughout the organisation

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelors degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in 4 year College or University degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Safety Sciences)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
4-10 years' experience leading and contributing to compliance and regulatory policy and program development in a materials processing environment.
Formal training in occupational health and safety is a must.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Board of Certified Safety Professionals - Certified Safety Professional certificate.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to travel across North America approximately 25% of the time.
Broad understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, risk assessment and mitigation programs in multiple (particularly North American) jurisdictions.
Ability to inspire others to commit to and achieve EHS&S program goals and performance measures in a production environment with varying levels of literacy and educational background.
Ability to develop a business case for new program development / program modification.
Ability to manage program administration requirements across multiple, disparate (production, distribution, warehousing, sales, and marketing) divisions.
ISO 9001 and 14001 are highly preferred.
Bilingual in either English/French or English/Spanish, highly preferred.
WORK LOCATION: Will work onsite at one of our manufacturing locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $93,000 to $120,000.
This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
